Exactly one week ago today, I and the admirable team @charakidsfoundation did what we could to ensure 100 underserved children in Emure-ile, Owo, Ondo State, got free malaria test, diagnosis and drugs - without leaving food items behind - in celebration of the just-passed Children's day ❤️

It was a well-spent time as always. My prayer is: may the Nigerian child thrive🙏

PS: I'm stuck on this song. Blessings, @bisimanuel 🔥

I have seen and I have heard. I have loved and I have lived. And I have never experienced something more rewarding than making a human genuinely smile. 🥹

@charakidsfoundation believe healthy children are joyful children so the team spent the just-passed Children Day's spreading joy to the kids from three different schools at Emure Ile, Owo, Ondo State. ❤️

Game sessions, choreographyyy, dance sessions, foods and drinks too, of course and ultimately gifts that makes learning and living easier. It was pure bliss for them! 🫶

Forever, forever grateful for such platform and the opportunity to work with the sweet, passionate and focused people of Charakids Foundation ❤️

I'm always reminded that we do charity because every child deserves hope. 🥺❤️

Last year October, @charakidsfoundation hosted an event where 11 students of Anglican Grammar School, Ijare Ondo State were given a full session scholarship.

In February 2025, I led a team to check up on these scholarship beneficiaries; ask about their welfare, engage them in conversation as relatable as possible and most importantly, vet their last exam results to see if the scholarship eased their academic journey.

I spoke to a number of students but I'll never forget one who spoke with deep concerns about his academics.

"You have a C here. You need to do better. What happened in this courses you didn't get A?"

"I don't understand French..." he replied with obvious concerns and not fear of my comments. I loved that.

"But you're here to learn, aren't you?"

"Yes, but... I don't... understand. I've tried... Koyemi rara" I understood that switch to Yoruba to express the depth of his pain. I smiled.

I know that feeling. I know what it means to fail completely at school or to always have less grade than the effort you put in. The crazy part was that it wasn't that I knew that feeling in the far past. I knew it then and there. I could relate.

"A, look at me. See, I know I look like a big aunty to you but I'm a student too. As a matter of fact, I came here immediately after finishing a lecture. See, first agree that your grades do not particularly reflect your efforts. You might try more than who "scored first". Our learning processes are different. Okay?" He nodded.

"So, due to your background, learning a subject like French might be hard for you, very hard. But you can't stop trying. You can't." I said, squeezing his hands to offer emotional support.

"That's the only thing you have control over; not giving up. Keep learning no matter how hard it seems. Keep putting in effort and never give up."

He smiled, relieved 🥺

I've seen many concerned students, but he was burdened.
Too much baggage - he's just a kid.
I was so honored to be able to not just speak to him but into him words I really needed to hear at the time myself.

Rest, dear one, your fears will fade - life ensures that. 😄

Forever grateful to @charakidsfoundation
for the platform ❤️🫶

We had the privilege of partnering with @charakidsfoundation at their Career Summit to empower the minds and enrich the lives of underserved students of Anglican Grammar School, Ijare, Ondo State on making the right departmental choice that directly influences their career pathways later in life.
It was a beautiful experience of accessing their strengths and opening them to unconventional career pathways.

Every child deserves access to Quality education and we advocate SDG 4 as an Institution. ❗
