TODAY! Repost from @nadjaarg Silvia Federici: My politics resonate with your idea of “joyful militancy.” I’m a strong believer that either your politics is liberating and that gives you joy, or there’s something wrong with them. “outraged by pleasure” exhibition and events have emerged from motions like the ones shared by carla bergman and Nick Montgomery with Silvia Federici. PAT (Elpida Karaba, Yota Ioannidou, Vangelis Vlahos, Despina Zefkili) presents within the exhibition’s spaces PAT’s Live «For a joyful militancy» which consists of a double performance by Marios Chatziprokopiou and Chara Stergiou, as well as the translation of four chapters of the book «Joyful Militancy/ Building Thriving Resistance in Toxic Times» by carla bergman and Nick Montgomery, AK Press, as part of PAT’s micro-publishing. This is a PAT Live on waste/d, pleasure, soft power and militancy that expands and empowers @outragedbypleasure while it poses some critical questions for all to share: How do we position ourselves towards the multitude of losses and the rhetoric of despair, towards the multitude of disasters and crises that surround us locally and internationally? Today Friday Nov. 10th at 7.30 pm, Nobel building Chalandri Marios Chatziprokopiou: I’m only Sad On My Face, performance 15-20’. Participants: ΠΑΤ, recordings, audience [A polyphonic sharing of Clarice Lispector’s texts; about the presentness that burns, without hope and promise; about the material of things, the joy of being lost, the Sabbath joy. The last word will be the fourth dimension.] Chara Stergiou, Live Audience, performance
. 15-20’ Live Audience forms an interplay with the concepts of audition and its auditors. Based on material from recorded and written archives, it is a call to a multi-auditory process about the emotions and the repression of aural militant audiences. Admission to the exhibition and all events is free of charge. “Nobel” building – cultural space in the City of Chalandri Ivis 30 & Tymphristou, 152 34 Chalandri M3, Chalandri stop | OASA, line 447, Ardittou stop

I first met Chara Stergiou on a taxi from Rimini to San Marino, where she participated at the Mediterranea 19 Young Artists Biennale. We had this absurd conversation blending popular lyrics with Nicolas Bourriaud’s theories. At the same time, the national radio station paid tribute to Raffaella Carrà; it was her funeral day. Today we chatted for the “ARTWORKS Fellows” Medium featuring essays, texts, and interviews about contemporary Greek artists and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship Program. https://artworksfellows.medium.com/nicolas-vamvouklis-in-conversation-with-chara-stergiou-ae5cd2a9cc98 PH Chara Stergiou, Listening to an Elusive Geography, 2021. 🎤Nicolas Vamvoukis: What is your idea of hybridity? 🎤Chara Stergiou: We often associate hybridity with an unconscious imperative for newness or strangeness. Instead, I see it as a radical act of experimenting towards categorical inconsistency. This remains quite critical both in creating and perceiving. But mostly in trusting your own ways of working. A fruitful — and sometimes seemingly chaotic — mode of engagement based on method, not the result. Nicolas Vamvouklis (Curatorial SNF ARTWORKS Fellow 2021) in conversation with Chara Stergiou (Visual Arts SNF ARTWORKS Fellow 2020). 👆🏻Tap the link in bio for the whole discussion. 📸 1. Book for the first session of our workshop 'Thinking by Design' led by @charastergiou 1st Session: ‘Alles ist Arkitektur’ The first session introduces participants to design as an expanded field. Arguing that the thought process of the designer informs projects at every scale, we will start with the Austrian architect Hans Hollein and his ‘Alles ist Arkitektur’ (Everything is Architecture). Participants will develop a general understanding of the multiple directions and creative opportunities in the field as informed by recent projects and exhibitions that focus on the notions of the designer, the maker and the user. For bookings please contact us at info@athensopenstudio.com - 1η Συνάντηση: ‘Alles ist Arkitektur’ Η πρώτη συνάντηση εισάγει τους συμμετέχοντες στην αντίληψη του σχεδιασμού ως ένα διευρυμένο πεδίο γνώσης.
