Our pride for irish artists playing at Glastonbury this year started when we heard that Dublin based band @fontainesband were headlining the Park stage on the Friday night at Glastonbury but watching Dundalk based hero’s of hard-hitting trad sounds @marywallopers playing to a jam packed Park Stage crowd at 3:15pm had all our hearts pounding to the rhythm of the Dundalk natives roaring, soaring energy that increasingly portrays an epic mix of raucous divilment and cultivated irish charm.

Many comparing the band to the Pogues in their heyday.

They played a rip roaring set, with a full mix of old and new songs and blew the heads off all who watched on when they finished with three of their biggest hits; ‘Eileen Og’, ‘Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice’ and finished off the 45 min set with ‘Frost is all over’.

It’s safe to say that anyone who didn’t know the band before they attended this gig, most definitely left as a cult follower and it was simply incredible to see a Dundalk based band perform at such a large festival and own every second of their performance.

Well done lads, you’ve done us proud.

Hup Dundalk 🙌
