🍁✨‼️MEET THE CREAMER‼️✨🍁 Meet Charles! Charles is a sophomore animal science major with chemistry and business minors from Wilmette, IL. After graduating, he plans travel a bunch and eventually go to vet school ✈️🩺. Prior to CREAM, Charles had no experience with the dairy industry or large animals! “I really wanted to work with live animals and it seemed like a good way to get out of my comfort zone.” Charles favorite thing about CREAM is snuggling with his favorite cows and spending time with the other incredible creamers 🐄. His favorite dairy products is cheese (favs are mozzarella, vt cheddar, or chèvre although that last one is goat cheese) 🧀 . A fun fact about him is that he loves chocolate and lived next to a chocolate factory as a child 🍫. Charles favorite cows are Lotus 3970, Jenga 3961, Gravity 4036, Arizona 4039, and Juno 4063

Diving on the Great Barrier Reef was quite a treat, and the diversity of marine life was encouraging for a healthy yet struggling ecosystem. The truly unexpected highlight was a humpback whale passing silently above the divers in very shallow water! It was a quick pass along its migration route. Thanks @greg_thibaut for contributing that video! Other highlights included a variety of sea turtles (hawksbills and greens), multiple types of pufferfish and box fish, multiple types of rays, hermit crabs, sharks (epaulette, tawny nurse, white-tipped reef), marlin/sailfish, and many beautiful triggerfish, sweet lips, anemone fish, trumpet fish, and giant clams. Particularly interesting were the schools of humphead parrotfish, with huge teeth for crunching coral (creating sand), big goofy faces with humps, and a skittish personality. Wow, what a mix!

Australia! Hello Great Barrier Reef! We squeezed a lot of activity into a very short period of time…including 8 flights for me, 3 days on the ProDiveCairns ScubaPro dive boat, 2 hotel nights, 1 day at the Cairns Botanic Gardens, 1 night in an airport (shout out to Melbourne!), and at least one day not touching the earth due to the international date line (Wordle streak suffered). Excellent week though, meeting new friends from all over the world and diving with @charles.lazz as he recently finished two months of university studies here. I will edit some dive videos and post those separately. Next is the journey back to the US, and moving Charles right back into UVM for another year at school. So I guess add one more hotel night to the above list 😐. For fellow airport jockeys, my full loop is ORD-SFO-BNE-CNS-MEL-LAX-IAD-BTV-ORD. It is exhausting just writing about it!
