Yes, we’re eating before weigh-ins. Yes, it’s planned.

Somewhere along the way, fighters were taught that making weight means going without food or fluids and being absolutely miserable.

But suffering isn’t proof you did it right.

Your body still needs energy when training tapers. Recovery doesn’t stop because weigh-ins are coming. Neither does the work your body does just to keep you functioning.

Can food and fluids affect the scale? Absolutely. That’s why WHAT, HOW MUCH, and WHEN matter. Food has physical weight, and digestion takes time. We account for that in the plan.

That doesn’t mean eating whatever you want right before stepping on the scale. It means having an individualized strategy instead of automatically cutting everything out.

You cannot count on a big meal and a few drinks after weigh-ins to undo weeks of underfueling.

I want my fighters making weight with their health and performance still part of the conversation.

We have a fight to prepare for. The scale is one step.

Just enjoying the journey. Been in this game since I was 8 years old. It’s what’s made me the Man I am today. It’s taught me discipline, leadership and hard work. I’ve been honored to learn and work with some of the best to do it and that man on my right I couldn’t do it without him. The knowledge, expertise and experience he brings to the table is unmatched. Hes one of the best to do it and has been at the highest level. Part of this game is building a winning team and we’ve done just that. Shout to @mf.nuts for her nutritional expertise and always keeping the team properly fueled 💪🏽 shout out to @tj_spartan34 for brining his knowledge expertise and highest level of athletic strength and conditioning to every camp. Shoutout my pops for everything you’ve taught me since I was a kid and most importantly thank you GOD for building this winning team.
