POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve had a wonderful time being part of @BFInetwork’s brilliant #WritingForAnimation cohort, developing my original, Brum-centric script for 4-6 year olds, Mini Mysteries.

Since June we’ve enjoyed solo sessions with specialist script editors, plus group training workshops with a stellar array of amazing animators including Maryam Mohajer and @ojaridan. They’ve all been so generous with their time and their expertise, and it’s been an incredible voyage of discovery.

This week we got to peek behind the curtain @aardmananimations, then pitched our own work @encounterssff — which was a surprisingly terrifying experience! But it was so inspiring to see how everyone’s ideas have grown over the summer, and to glimpse such a wide range of styles and perspectives in one room. I can’t wait to see all our animations come to life 😊

I’m really grateful to Helen and Matt @uk_screenskills, my lovely Script Editor Sarah, all my fellow writers on this journey, and everyone @BFInetwork for a transformative opportunity — especially to Jess Wheeler, who ran the programme for the BFI Network, and has been an absolutely stellar support to all of us throughout the process.

If you’d like to find out more about my script, or my other animation writing, get in touch!

The Jury Season Two continues its awards run with nominations in both the Grierson Awards and Edinburgh TV Awards!

So lovely to see this unique project getting recognised by these classy awards, I hear the jurors on both are among the smartest and best looking people in the biz, whoever you may be!

“Three years ago, I was on Universal Credit. Now I’m a full-time filmmaker.”

@bafta-nominated writer-director @jordonscottkennedy has built a career telling the kinds of working-class stories rarely seen on British screens.

His latest short ‘Rocket Fuel’ breaks from bleak traditions of dead kestrels, electrocutions and radicalisations. Instead, it is full of humour, imagination and young kids from a Bradford council estate having the time of their lives.

We spoke to Jordon about his journey into filmmaking, the success of ‘Rocket Fuel’, and why working-class stories deserve to be filled with hope as much as hardship.

This wonderful cozy, creepy, caring film would not have been possible without the fantastic crew who worked tirelessly to make it happen on an insanely low budget. Big love to you all.

Exciting festival news incoming and we can’t wait to share this film with the world!

I promise we’re nice really x

So proud of this show. Such a heartbreaking project was made with such love and care right from the top down.

Those bloody lads have my heart. We laughed, we listened, we looked after each other.

What a moment for Manchester.

Running out of words for @russelltdavies63 @peterhoardirector- you’ve both been so patient and nurturing every step of the way - can’t thank you enough.

TIPTOE episode 5 aired last night on Channel 4, which was the finale for the series.

It has come around so soon, I hope everyone enjoyed the series. Made friends for life, a group of lads who are all kind hearted people. The amount of laughs we had during the time we had with each other was precious.

It was a pleasure to work with each and everyone of you, cast and crew. A huge thank you to @russelltdavies63 for everything.

What a time, great memories.
