Quantum Frequency, Accelerator Park, Cambridge (2025)

Commissioned by Canmoor and Greater Cambridge Shared Planning, Quantum Frequency is a permanent public artwork by @charleypeters, created for Accelerator Park, a science and innovation campus in Sawston, Cambridge.

Drawing on scientific diagrams, early computing graphics and vintage textbooks, Charley developed a visual language of atoms, orbits, circuits and interconnected networks. Beginning with drawings in the studio, these ideas evolved into six large-scale artworks, fabricated in collaboration with Creative Return as laser-cut, powder-coated aluminium panels, with perforated metal mesh behind them.

The project also involved workshops with pupils from Icknield Primary School and members of the local Sawston community. Their drawings, invented machines, diagrams and symbols brought new perspectives to the process, exploring how science can be understood through curiosity, imagination and everyday experience.

From the initial drawings to the finished installation, Quantum Frequency brings together art, science and community within the built environment.

Who’s been reading our new book?!

It means the world when we get your feedback on our book that we are incredibly proud of, and it’s fantastic to hear that it’s been helpful for people.

➡️ If you haven’t read it yet and would like to, comment “book” and we’ll send you a link with your nearest stockist ⬅️

This book has been several years in the making and comes directly from our experience working with artists through Delphian Gallery and as artists ourselves. Building on our first publication, it goes much further into what professional practice really looks like today, from preparing for opportunity to understanding the practical and commercial realities of sustaining a career in the arts. It’s published by the incredible Thames & Hudson.
