The band has a bar gig tonight. I usually wear a T-shirt from the shops and gear companies I’m friends with. We are really just background noise to people socializing, eating & drinking. Read the room…….play accordingly.

Every time I gig the Martyburst someone comes up to me and compliments it. Most people think it’s an R9. Marty Bell is truly an artist.

1982 Gibson Firebird. Swapped the mini humbuckers for Seymore Duncan Slash Alnico II full size PUs. Now she’s a talker. All mahogany, C shaped neck, fraction of a LP’s weight but severe neck drop. Found it in a garage in LA. That guy found it on tour with The Tubes.

This confirmed 1957 Fender Champ is at Top Gear in San Diego where Tim will do him magic bringing it back to life. If the tone lives up to it’s reputation I will probably mic it for gigs. One more saved from the dumpster (the seller literally pulled it out of a dumpster where they were doing a trash and debris clean out of an old property. He saw the Fender tag)

Honestly, it’s hard to miss with an SG. They’re light, resonant and easy to play. This one has the mojo. It was a salvage and rebuild by Mr Block. Last night it killed. Play the old stuff.

The rig was dialed in at tonight’s gig. Not the best clean channel tone but the lead tone was killer. Always a work in progress.

Today’s gig rig for @michi_brewco this afternoon at 4pm. Low volume, high ceilings, cement walls great acoustics for vocals. The @fivewattworld @barberelectronics BUSS overdrive kills with the P90s. All connected by my bulletproof @tsunamicables Come hang w the band. The pineapple hazy IPA is to die for
