Thank you, @charlispivey, for sharing your love of theatre with us this summer! 🎭💜 We loved having you at TMD and are so thankful for all the energy, creativity, and confidence you poured into our dancers. We can’t wait to see them carry everything they learned with you onto the stage for all the musicals, show choirs and dance competitions this season!

Well, gang, everything is about to change. Teaching at TTU was not what I expected it to be at all. It was full of faking it until I make it, long nights of tech mentorship, happy accidents, laughter-filled lectures, life-changing rehearsal processes, and (as always) some not so fun surprises. Some days I honestly can’t believe that I had the courage to move to the lone star all by myself and try out one of my dreams. But the funny thing about your dreams coming true is that you suddenly learn the very heart of what you wanted all along. And sometimes the dream job doesn’t have everything you need.

This was never meant to be my forever place. But I truly believe that I needed to be here in order to meet some of my forever people. I’ve gotten the chance to work with some of the coolest people in academia. Not to mention my incredible students. Y’all have made every minute worth it. Your belief in me makes me believe in myself. I will miss being your professor, but I will always be your cheerleader. Be nice to one another, trust the music, and actually ask the questions. I can’t wait to see where you take yourselves! The whole world is out there for you, and I’ll be out there finding it with you!

Next up: Minneapolis!! 3rd times the charm? I feel a little like I’m free falling into whatever is next for me, but I can’t wait to land back in the support of that community that has always had my back. I’ll be enjoying the endless sky for one more week and then I’m back in the north country in time for the fair!
