London TennoVIP Event

I had the opportunity to attend Digital Extremes’ TennoVIP event and meet some of the developers behind the game. Two of them were people I’d actually had the chance to play with just a few weeks prior. While waiting in line, I had a great conversation with Zach (Who I had played a Void Cascade on Lua with along with Charly during Prime Time 493) about Warframe and some of the things that make the game so special. Among the topics we discussed were collaborations and the community’s requests to see other franchises brought into the game. As someone who spends a lot of time fashion framing, I’ve never really felt the need to see other IPs introduced into Warframe beyond Digital Extremes’ own franchises, such as Unreal Tournament. One of my favourite aspects of the game is its customisation. There’s so much depth to the way you can personalise your Warframe, and as an artist, trying to recreate characters and designs from other franchises using the tools already available is one of the most enjoyable puzzles the game offers me.

It was genuinely nice to have a conversation with people who work on a game I’ve spent so many years playing. That connection between the developers and the community, whether through Devstreams, in-game Orbiter notifications or opportunities like TennoVIP, is something I really appreciate as a gamer.

Included are some of my favourite recreations in order of appearance: Orion & Sirius as Dialga and Palkia from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Gauss Prime as Unit-01 from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Rhino Prime as Blue Beetle, Excalibur Umbra as Hayden Tenno from Dark Sector, Ember Prime as Hornet from SilkSong, Voruna Prime as Guts from Berserk, Narin as The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz, Sevagoth Prime as Exodia, The Forbidden One and Atlas Prime as DOOMGUY.

Brasil you have our whole heart 🇧🇷❤️ Muito obrigada!!

I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience your warmth and joy first hand. Your love for Warframe and the community vibrating the room.

There were so many cool moments... The Line's Jade Shadows: Constellations trailer came on, the lights dimmed and everyone whipped around to watch it and cheer. And when We All Lift Together played and a group of Tenno formed a circle and mimicked the sledge hammer animation from Fortuna. And all the heartfelt conversations, sharing deeply personal stories with us and trusting us with how the game has impacted your lives.

We couldn't have done any of this without the Brasil DE team! This would have been a very different trip without their support. Thank you for teaching us some Portuguese so that we could connect with the Tenno and for guiding us every step of the way as we explored São Paulo. It was so fun to spend time with you all!!

We hope you all had an amazing time, I know we did 💚💛

I GOT TO MEET THE WARFRAME TEAM!
Being able to meet the team behind the game that is my biggest inspiration in life is not something I take lightly. Warframe opened my mind to think about my own characters and stories. To express my gratitude to these people, even if just for a moment, means everything to me. To be able to show my drawings of Warframe to them meant everything. Thank you, @playwarframe, for coming to Brasil for the first (and hopefully not for the last) time, and especially for the absolute kindness that Megan, Dani, Zach, Charly and Ruu showed us tonight. It was the best experience to share with both DE and fellow fans.

Also, I was so flabbergasted talking to THE Megan Everett that I totally forgot to ask for the others' signatures. My brain was not working properly at the time. Sorry, guys 🙃
