HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY! To my incredibly brilliant and beautiful daughter, @faith.jjo ! July 13th, 2002, Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, Ontario, you came into this world with a beautiful Twin Sister, Elisa Joy 🕊️ who sadly passed just before birth. I have to ask God but I’m sure He gave you a double portion of brilliance, intelligence and giftedness to carry with you because you are absolutely amazing. GrandMo 🕊️ would be so proud of the wonderful young woman you have become. She always knew it. And yes I still call you Faithie because that was her favourite name for you lol You have excelled at everything you do. And have shown academic savant like tendencies since you were 3 creating your own math problems to learn. From top of your class in Elementary school to Valedictorian at the prestigious @crestwoodpreparatory to winning @ontariosba championships with @crestwoodprepwbb playing along side the best of the best, to attending @uoft @uoftwbasketball earning the Clara Benson Honour Award for top Student Athlete at U of T, to finishing your Engineering degree and installed as a Youth Minster this has been an amazing journey and I’m so honoured to be your Dad, there are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how proud I am of you. Every one is blessed to know you and we thank the Lord for it all! You have a village of family, friends and supporters always here for you! Love you Faithie! ❤️

Y’all Help Me Wish A Happy 82nd Birthday To My Dad! @josephgkenny4424! Yes he is on IG smh 🤦🏾‍♂️ lol Looking fly and not a day over 60! I know I speak a lot about my Mom 🕊️ because I miss her so much but that shouldn’t overshadow how amazing my Dad is and it has in the past.

So I thought I would take a moment to celebrate my Dad who is walking, talking CANADIAN BLACK BUSINESS HISTORY, Mr. Kenny Joseph.

He left sweet T&T 🇹🇹 In 1970 for the USA and he studied electronics at the RCA Institutes in New York 🇺🇸 , moved to Canada 🇨🇦 and in 1984, become the first Black Manager for Sunbeam Home Appliances and won Manager of the Year. In the 1990s, he negotiated a deal with @mattel to become the ONLY authorized dealer for parts & service in Canada for the Power Wheels electronic cars. He’s gone through various iterations of small businesses in the small appliance industry.

He is the best Father & Grandfather and I thank God everyday for his life, and being there for me during every trial and triumph.

He is off the coast of South America chilling right now while we are here in the North Pole freezing! Ironically the place he chose as my birth place lol ❄️ 🧊 🥶

On March 18th, 2026… I will be making the very difficult decision to visit the place where my Mother was buried after many years of running away from it. I have suffered greatly in silence from a 19 year battle with grief and depression. I am a Black man in Canada and I need to share a bit of my truth in hopes it will help some one reading this. I realized before I return to hosting interviews and having conversations I need to confront some things.

19 years ago, on March 18th, 2007, I lost my mother to Cancer. She fought hard for years, beat it but returned once more and took her. It was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. Up until that point, no one close to me had passed away.

I silently and some times outwardly spiralled into a deep depression and battle with grief. But I was wearing a mask. A mask of a youth leader, community leader, father etc. All while suffering from enormous pain.

I could never truly honour and open up myself to the mothers of my children and be the man God expected of me. Good women who didn’t deserve an emotionally distant man. I selfishly used Mother’s Day as a day of grief and detachment instead of celebrating and honouring them. It contributed to the dissolving of my relationships and every attempt since with to be close with a woman as I was emotionally distant at times, it was hard to open up and feel safe and which contributed to strife and lack of peace in relationships.

It kept me from being close to my own Big Sister for years, because of unresolved pain. It was deep and long suffering. It impacted in some ways my children as I was present in their lives but sometimes emotionally distant. Friendships I valued I would just disappear and disconnect for years because of the pain.

I will be going back to therapy for grief and will ensure I’m good before re-launching #LetsTalk🎙️ so I am in a much healthier place mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

I’ll be back soon…Not another 5 year hiatus.

If your mom is still here, call her. hug her. Hold her tight. Love You All.

A week later and I’m still in my feelings about our OG Canadian @thelionking cast reunion for the new @mirvishproductions opening night performance of The Lion King (playing now, go run and get tix).

I was 12 when I hit what felt like the lotto getting to play Young Simba on that Princess of Wales stage. It was this massive event. Getting to be inside of something that meant so much to me as a kid. And it was just as magical to be inside, as it was to watch. I remember getting to see these amazing actors and dancers transform in front of my eyes, then try my best to do the same.

And it all came flooding back watching a new group of powerhouse performers say those words and sing the songs we sang all those years ago.

Love to my original LK family and welcome to the pride to the new cast carrying the torch forward.

CONGRATS to everyone 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Y’all killed it 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I could go on and on, but I’ll just say my heart was full last Sunday.

It was definitely one to remember ✨🦁🖤
