A weekend to remember! 💫

What started as a morning ride turned into a pretty special experience. Some of our dedicated Specialized team members got the chance to ride alongside the pro athletes who inspire so many of us. Getting to share the road, connect, and ride together made for a moment they won’t soon forget.

Same passion for the ride, no matter the jersey. 🫶🏽

A quick run-in with new world champion Brandon McNulty and a little behind the scenes with UAE.

This wasn’t on the original itinerary. About 12 hours prior, the opportunity to visit the team and deliver the bike came up, but we’d have to leave early and drive 3 hours from Tuscany to Bologna. It took me all of two seconds to commit.

The stars really aligned on this one. An American wins the world championship, he happens to be in Italy for a race the following week, and I just happen to be with Colnago the day they planned to deliver his Y1Rs with the world champion stripes. Pretty special to be there for it.

Brandon was really cool and super humble. He seems like a guy who’s full of gratitude for those around him. Just a genuinely good guy. We chatted briefly about riding in Southern California and, as it turns out, we have a mutual friend in none other than Mr. @charonlsmith himself.

Awesome day with a well-deserving world champion.

@gatewaycupstl Tour De Lafayette🥇 @tylerlockecycling and 🥈 @charonlsmith (#FBF Day 1) 👌👌🤘🤘

To explain this and not to say it didn’t go perfect for me but the plan was to lead Charon out wide and let him slot in for a clean 1st and maybe hold on to podium for me. After final lap began @lbumgar1 had finished his long lead out duty and I gained positions finding myself 1st with a long way to go so I drove the pace higher and higher until final corner and as told went wide but could only see other team colors coming on me so I pedaled through to the line right as Charon did a Bike-Throw… I was slightly ahead for the win! 🏆

Caught the Juniors through the beginning of Cat 3/4 at Francis Park on Saturday. All @gatewaycupstl’s photos I snapped that day can be found through the link in my (@velo_city’s) bio. Cheers to everyone who made it through that scorcher of a day.
