POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Somehow it’s already been 4 years since we filmed 'Once a Mormon', a drama/comedy film I wrote and directed.

Around this time in 2022, we were right in the middle of production. Still one of the most fun projects I’ve had the chance to create and direct.

A few behind-the-scenes shots from a project that took a lot of people, planning, and probably more chaos than these photos show.

Official Selection • Jakarta World Cinema 2026 🎬✨
Incredibly thrilled to announce that The Last Fifteen Minutes has been officially selected for the KlikFilm Short Movie Competition at this year’s Jakarta World Cinema @jakartaworldcinema Out of 312 submissions, we are incredibly honored to have advanced as an official Top 30 Finalist.
This selection is a testament to the absolute brilliance, sweat, and heart of our entire cast and crew. None of this happens without a team that trusts the vision. Huge congratulations to everyone involved! ❤️
Our film is officially in the running for the festival’s prestigious Jury Prizes—judged by Indonesia’s industry titans Joko Anwar, Gina S. Noer, and Khozy Rizal—as well as a special Audience Choice Award.
Save the Dates:
While the festival doesn’t kick off until the end of the month, we wanted to share this major milestone with you early. The entire competition lineup will be streaming globally on the KlikFilm @klikfilm app from October 31st to November 21st.
When the window opens, your streams and views will directly help us compete for that Audience Award! For now, mark your calendars, and we will share direct streaming links as soon as they go live.
A massive, heartfelt thank you to our phenomenal cast and crew who poured their souls into this project. This achievement belongs to all of us. ❤️

That’s a wrap on Betty Bombshell! The circus was a real one and my family is oh so very grateful to share this memory with the many beautiful artists and people who brought their gifts on board. Ventura County and Santa Ynez, THANK YOU! You all showed up with your incredible hearts and skillsets making production sensational. To the AD staff, thanks for coming on board, keeping it positive, on schedule, safe and nonstop laughter. Shoutout to my fabulously hardworking wife @iamgabriellamancha who cast all our brilliant BG performers and also found all the vintage cars!! She worked around the clock while keeping our baby happy and growing. Carmen is so lucky. And OF COURSE, thanks to @johnlaboo_inc and #erikmacarthur for trusting us!

My dream as a filmmaker is to find the people I love most and create together with them as often as possible for as long as possible. The fact that I’ve been making memories with so many members of this special crew for over a decade says it all. Each person on this project wore a lot of hats and when it’s all said and done, that’ll be the unique shine the audience can’t quite put a finger on when they can’t take their eyes off the screen. I know it’s a little silly to label a project a “cult classic” years in advance but whatever, I’m going to call it one now!

Good luck in post @jrossryan ❕
