TRACK 2: Avoidant

Wrote and produced this song with @coreymouch, who I have been a massive fan of for a long time. We wrote it pretty quickly, and to me, it’s a representation of the anger and frustration that I felt at the time. My thumbs were moving as fast as they could typing this chorus out in my notes app. I am in love with the final product, but i loved the process of creating this song just as much.

Overyearner. My fourth EP is out next Friday, October 23rd.

I feel like a Phoenix. Born from immense sorrow and longing, this has been the absolute most cathartic experience of my creative journey. I took my tears and turned them into a soothing salt bath. I took my confusion and turned it into chords. I took my anger and made it rhyme.

The goal is always to get more honest and vulnerable with each record I put out, and I truly believe I have done just that. I don’t think it’s possible for me to be more excited for or prouder of a body of work.

To my collaborators, thank you doesn’t begin to cover it. You met me in the trenches and helped me build a ladder. Then you helped me plant a garden. I got to work with some of my closest friends, as well as people I’ve looked up to for years (who have become close friends in the process).

To my friends who have allowed me to play you all of these new songs and talk about the stories and meaning behind them, and have supported me through it all - I am endlessly grateful. I’m the luckiest person in the world to have the support system that I do.

To everyone who listens to my music and cares about my story, thank you for feeling all the emotions with me. I love this community we’re building, and you make me feel like a rockstar.
