What started as, ‘Let’s go to the desert. Vegas? No, wait—St. George? Who’s wants to go?’ we ended up in 2 rentals, 3 kids and 18 people sitting around the thanksgiving table.

No big sends, no big objectives—just 7 days in the desert with my favorite people.

In terms of a family vacation, this was a dream, so many “kid friendly crags”, drivable, and just a nice way to escape the hustle and bustle of work life/home life balance. And to top it off did I mention we were able to spend 7 days in a row at the crag!

I have been trying to put it off for as long as possible, but I finally have to admit that the 21/22 ski season has come to a close. Coming in at 61 total days on skis, with 33 days in the backcountry, this has been my longest ski season to date. It has also been one of my best. Fun turns in beautiful places with great people, skiing down mountains still lands as one of my favorite things to do on Earth. I picked 10 of my favorite pictures and videos from this year

Birthday send of “Freak Line” 5.12 PG13! This is a new link up at Rincon in Eldo starting on “The Evictor” and finishing on “Fraid Line.” I’ve done both of these routes but what I liked about the link up was that it combined the more runout parts of each route. I even placed a pecker for my first time! Woooo! 🥰😀🎂

This past weekend had my heart pumping more than most of my mountain excursions. @rchase289, @the.megmeg, and I went up and scrambled the West Ridge of Little Bear Peak and connected the ridgeline over to Blanca Peak

This consisted of almost 5 hours of loose and extremely exposed scrambling ranging from 4th class-5.4. While there were very few individual sections that were that much more difficult than others, the entire route as a whole packed quite a punch.

Being on the ridge for that long, testing every hold, looking down at all the exposure, and dealing with altitude and fatigue all was extremely mentally taxing. There were a few moments that I felt true fear start to settle in. Yet with the committed nature of the route, the only choice was to carefully and consciously forge onwards.

This was also one of my favorite days in the mountains this year. I got to experience some incredible views and exposure on a classic Colorado Alpine route with two fantastic people. You really can’t ask for more than that.

A fun weekend in the Black Canyon with some of my favorite peeps 🖤🖤🖤

It was so rad to see @alldayeddie crush the crux pitch of Astrodog, and get to watch @ericsternboco style it right after! Having @rchase289 with us to complete the party train made it a much less intimidating adventure as we all goofed off making our way through the pitches. A weekend of memories I will never forget 😊❤️
