Wow I can’t believe it’s already over. I’m gonna miss this team and I couldn’t ask for a better one. I’m very grateful that the coaches and team accepted me to be a part of the team 2.5 years ago. I wouldn’t change a thing in the time I had with this team. With that being said I feel really good with what I accomplished in this past year. I had a very high goal of making it to the top of the podium at the state wrestling tournament and then last month I ended up tearing my foot and I couldn’t even walk. I thought it was a season ending injury. With the help of my coaches, teammates, and family I got through it and gutted it out and I still ended up making the finals to wrestle for a state championship. Wow, and just like that my wrestling career comes to an end.

Even though I came short of my goals this season, nothing else can teach me what wrestling has, it has taught me patience and it has made me an all around better man. I came out for this sport to be good at football in 7th grade and I instantly fell in love with it. I can’t thank my coaches and teammates enough, they have been by my side making me better than I ever thought I would be, they had a goal for me long before I ever thought I could get to where I did and that shows that if you trust your coaches you will succeed with your goals. I want to also thank my family for believing in me and making me wrestle even though I wanted to quit at one point, I would never be how I am today if I would’ve left this sport and I’m glad I stuck with it! This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done and that’s why I loved it, wrestling can teach you so many things on and off the mat.
