We might have missed the West Coast flowers in September, but there was still so much to see and do 🥰🌼

Just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the West Coast National Park is such a lovely spot for a weekend exploring nature. We spotted bontebok, ostriches and even a puff adder 🐍, watched waves crash against the rocks and spent some time swimming at Kraalbaai in the Langebaan Lagoon, where the water is so much warmer and calmer than the beaches we’re used to in Cape Town 🌊☀️

If you’re planning a visit, August and September are the best months for the famous wildflowers, but there’s plenty to enjoy outside flower season too. Think wildlife spotting, beautiful coastal views, walking trails, picnic spots and swimming in the lagoon. You can even bring along your braai goodies and make a day of it at the designated braai areas 🇿🇦

We’ll definitely be back, hopefully in time for the flowers next year 🤭
