-Super Meow

“A DECK-BUILDING game for 6-YEAR-OLDS AND UP!”

Super Meow is meant to be an introductory deck building game and I think it does a great job of it.

Super Meow is coming from SPACE Cow, “a game range dedicated to children!“

In this game we all start with the same cards and build our deck from there. On our turn we decide which card to buy from the Market or Bank with the two cards we flip face up at the time. You use the two cards visible each turn to hopefully purchase the cards that you need later to then purchase the other cards you need to be the first to draw a cat and a cape at the same time to win.

To finish your turn you put those cards in the wash and put out two new cards face down. Each time we use all of our cards we wash them (shuffle them) back into a deck.

We can also opt to dispose of cards as an action towards the end to increase the odds of pulling the two cards you need to win.

The different cards you need to win have different paths to acquire so you are accomplishing a few things before getting ready to try to win.

There can be a little more interaction if you decide to buy a card that will let you steal a card from another player and of course you are racing to the finish.

I like how the two part box becomes both the trashcan and the market. The components are nice for a small box game and the directions are straightforward and pleasing to look at.

If you have 1 or more kids who you want to introduce to deck building, I think this would make a great gift.

I received this from @asmodee_usa at PAX Unplugged.

A few hours later I bumped into friends and we ended up trying this with two adults and my 13 year old and then a second game with an additional adult. I think we all agreed it was well designed and enjoyable to play if you’re trying to introduce someone to deck building. I want to try this with my 11 year old. He hasn’t played a deck building game and this would be a great introduction.

Check out this awesome custom ornament I ordered from @chasing_railways!

It has meeple representing front to back me, my wife, my four boys oldest to youngest, and then also includes our black dog, our two gray cats, and our black and white cat.

I opened this when I got home from PAX Sunday night and it put a huge smile on my face. :)

Check out their instagram for the Etsy link.

I’m not sure you can still order one for before the holidays, you’d have to ask, but I’d order one anyway!

🎄 When do you take down your Christmas decorations? 🤔

Hubby & I usually undecorate the weekend after New Year’s, which would be today, but I just haven’t gotten in the mood yet. 🥱
▫️▫️▫️
Did you get any board game themed ornaments this season? I ordered Tyler of @Chasing_Railways’ annual holiday ornament ages ago (for a 2nd year a row), but life was so busy before the holidays that I didn’t get a chance to post about it until now. 🫣 I don’t know if Tyler has any of these left, but keep your eyes peeled for his 2024 ornament that he’ll likely announce this summer. He usually gives people the opportunity to customize their ornaments with the number & colors of meeples you want. 🤩

Not into Christmas ornaments? You should still check out Tyler’s Etsy shop for all kinds of cool game upgrades & accessories. Link is in his bio at @Chasing_Railways.

I know most of us want to save our limited budgets for actual games rather than merch, so that makes it all the more special to me when you include me in your purchasing.
▫️▫️▫️
2023 has been my most successful year yet! 🥰 Because of your purchases, I will be able to send more money to IRAP, @RefugeeAssistance, as part of my commitment to donating 10% of my gross income on merch sales. It’s important to me to give back, & I choose IRAP because I have customers all over the world, & I think helping people who have been displaced from their homes is the right thing to do. Plus, the US was built by immigrants, & I think we’re stronger when we welcome all with open arms. 🌎🌍🌏

You can order shirts from my Amazon shop in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain & Japan. For mugs, glassware, magnets & more, go to my #Zazzle shop. Links to both shops are in my bio. If you do make a purchase, please tag me & share with the tag #BoardGameAngel. 😇
