Everyday is Like Sunday.

The quiet frames no one sees. BTS of an interesting healthcare-focused job that I shot during the pandemic. Was thankful to be working. The San Francisco-based crew was amazing and supportive.

I handed my Leica to one of the PA’s, Jenn Delfs who captured these behind the scenes photos. Thank you!

A scene from early morning office hours last weekend on Telegraph Hill, on location crafting visuals to tell the story with the inspired & energetic director, @guyshelmerdine, producer @iambq and @smugglersite. Many thanks to Robert Barcelona at @ultraarmsf for making our tracking shots precise and to @lucasdeans for keeping them tack sharp.

Incredible few days of filming here in the glorious metropolis of San Francisco. I’ve loved this city since I first visited as a teenager and it just never fails to impress with its beauty. Filming on the streets at a 45 degree incline is no small feat and my crew here are as tough as nails and they seem to pull it off with élan. My favorite American singer-songwriter, Paul Westerberg, wrote “Left of the Dial” in the 80’s that contained the signature lyric “headed out to San Francisco, definitely not L.A.” My friends and I used to sing along to this on repeat back in Iowa City and how I never ended up living here, I’ve never quite understood. A big shout out of thanks to @guyshelmerdine, @iambq, @smugglersite & @fcbchi for having us along for the ride. Life is so rich. (📷 ~ Don Henderson)

Survival Mode: Montecito.
On this show, we meet survivors. But also the people who showed up in the darkest hour. Who carried others through.

This episode holds more silence than some of the others. A little more shadow. But also the warmth of those who came together through the rescue and in the years that followed.

Grateful to the families who trusted us with their stories, and to this talented, sensitive crew who helped hold the space.

Now streaming on Peacock.
New episodes every Monday 10/9c on NBC.

Survival Mode: Fort Worth, TX. Bringing in our own sun allowed us to wrap this participant in light, transforming an otherwise drab airbnb space with no exterior windows, into something more befitting the strength and courage of Destiny Mays. Her survival is nothing short of a miracle.

Now streaming on @Peacock. Final episode premieres Monday 10/9c on NBC.

GLORIA is headed to Tribeca! 👒

Thank you, Kim, for trusting me to help bring this jewel box of a film to life. To world premiere at Tribeca means so much. This film was crafted with so much love by the collaborators I’ve worked alongside the entirety of my career thus far: from NYU Tisch (both Playwrights Horizons and Film), to the folks I met on my first sets, to my new friends and fellow crew from my artistic home in the Bay Area.

We couldn’t have pulled it off without everyone’s generosity and endless talent. It was such a delight to capture this project on the medium that made me fall in love with cinematography: 16mm film! 🎞️

We hope you will join us at our premiere on June 6th at 3pm at Spring Street Studios, or at another screening of the “Mind & Body” Shorts Program.
