❤️💙🦬 STORY TIME! 📖 PART 1: MARTHA’S VINEYARD

Remember that picture I shared with two time Academy Award winner Ruth E. Carter? Wondering how I ended up there? 😂

Well, I promised y’all a story!

LET’S REWIND TO JULY 23, 2026! ⏪

I was preparing for the HBCU Network of Western Massachusetts’ first Student Send-Off & Alumni Mixer when my phone rang.

A 202 area code? Who’s calling me from D.C.? 👀😂

IT WAS HOWARD UNIVERSITY! 🦬

I had been invited to Martha’s Vineyard for an exclusive gathering with Dean Kimberly Moffitt as part of the Cathy Hughes School of Communications 5+5 Alumni Tour and Beyond 55 celebration!

I was SHOCKED and honored!

This opportunity came through reconnecting with my Howard roots and joining the Howard University Alumni Club of Boston. Special thanks to club president Bianca Sullivan for recommending me! ❤️

Fast forward to August, and there I was on Martha’s Vineyard, reconnecting with classmates, meeting fellow Bison, and enjoying some wonderful fellowship!

And the Vineyard? ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! 😍

A few special shoutouts!

❤️ Layne Eskridge: Thank you for talking with me about the show I’m writing! Once it’s completed, I’ll get it to you!

❤️ Kerry-Ann Hamilton: Your home is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for welcoming me among your guests!

❤️ Tiana Williams: So nice finally meeting you! Who knew we were both from Massachusetts?! 😂

Now, can somebody PLEASE explain how y’all found my yearbook photo?! 🤨😂

Because “research” is NOT a sufficient explanation! 😂😂

Seriously though, I’m so grateful for this experience.

When I started the HBCU Network of Western Massachusetts, my goal was to build a community connecting HBCU students, alumni, and families.

I never imagined it would start opening doors for ME, too.

Doors I didn’t even know existed. ❤️

And Martha’s Vineyard was just the BEGINNING! There’s so much more to share, and we’re still working our way back to that picture with Ruth E. Carter! 👀😂

TO BE CONTINUED… ⏳

I CREATE. I CONNECT. I BUILD WHAT I WISH EXISTED. ❤️
