Yaakov buried Rachel on the roadside so that one day, as her children were led into exile, she could cry out for them.

And Hashem answered her: “There is reward for your work… your children will return to their borders.” (Yirmiyahu 31)

Her tears are still working for us.

13 years ago, an estimated 800,000 people filled the streets of Jerusalem to say goodbye to Maran Harav Ovadia Yosef zt”l.

One of the greatest Torah scholars of our time, he dedicated his life to strengthening Sephardic Jewry, preserving its traditions, and bringing Jews closer to Torah.

This week is Perashat Beresheet, the first parsha of the year. Before Hashem made anything else, He made light. Whatever feels dark in your life right now, light was always the plan.

Shabbat Shalom!
