Motherhood has changed me in ways I don’t think I could have ever put into words before becoming a mother.

Matrescence has made me see the world differently. It’s changed the way I see my own mom. It’s changed the way I look at women, especially mothers. I notice their tired eyes, the full hands, the solo moms at airports, the little moments of sacrifice. I see the strength in women in a way I never knew how to see before.

And somehow, becoming a mother has made my world feel both bigger and smaller all at once.

Bigger because I have a mini me who makes me want to dream bigger, live fuller, and chase every goal with even more intention. And smaller because suddenly, so much of what used to feel important just… doesn’t.

I want to give her everything. I want to protect her with every ounce of me. I want to make the world softer for her, safer for her, better for her.

But I know that as much as I want to protect her from the world, I know my greatest job will eventually be to let her step into it.

I want to give her roots, but also wings. I want to teach her that she is capable, independent, brave, and worthy of taking up space in this world. I want her to know that she can chase whatever lights her up and that she never has to make herself smaller to be loved.

And in the process of teaching her that, I’m learning it all over again myself. Motherhood hasn’t made me stop dreaming. If anything, it has made me dream with more purpose.

I’m still building. Still creating. Still chasing the ideas that keep me up at night. Still building my small business, my goals, and the woman I was before I became ‘mama’.

But now, I’m doing it all with her little eyes watching.
And maybe that’s the greatest motivation of all.

I don’t want her to watch me choose between being a good mom and pursuing my dreams. I want her to watch me build a life where there is room for both.

She is the greatest chapter of my life, but there are still so many pages left to write. If you made it this far, thanks for reading & connecting. This probably should have been a Substack but I don’t have one lol. Love u guys 🥹🤎

a glimpse into the dynamic of being a fire family with Chaz working at one of the busiest stations in the nation. There are so many amazing parts of the fire world but this isn’t shown enough. Holidays, weekends, vacations with no dada. I get asked a lot what it’s like not having him home for days at a time. Most days I’m strong, some days look like this. Anyways, I just wanted to keep it real for anyone else that might be in a similar situation as us. The good days definitely outweigh the bad & we are going to continue to show it all!
