🌀 Welcome to Weird Design Wednesday! 🌀

Every Wednesday, I’m going to try ditching the rule book and diving into the wild world of unconventional design. I get stuck too often on trying to be “perfect” or posting the “best” thing and it just leaves me paralyzed.

NO MORE I SAY!!

From quirky color combinations to offbeat typography, this Weekly Series is all about pushing boundaries and letting creativity run wild! 🎨✨

Let’s challenge the norms, spark some conversations, and have a whole lot of fun along the way. 😄

After the performance, my friend Elisabeth coined the title and said “Whoo! This was not yo mama’s Linus and Lucy!”I have to say, I really do love the way the ending came about. Thank you Charlie Trotter, Kevin Graves, Lorjust Bayne, and Caleb Barnett for exploring this piece with me. It was so much fun! 🥳 Now presenting, “Not Yo Mama’s Linus and Lucy”! #dfw #keller #dallas #fortworth #texas #music #piano #fyp #guitar #organ #christmas

Well the saying goes "the show must go on" for a reason! I'm SO proud of these kids for what they did tonight! When the lead gets injured early in Act 1, they pulled together and finished the show....it wasn't what they wanted or expected but that’s LIVE theatre. Here are pics from the matinee! Zombie Prom!!!! Congrats @stagehawks_theatre for making the best of a situation out of your control. ♥️ to our Toffee!!!Hope your knee heals quickly!!!! #zombieprom #bhs #bisd #livetheatre #theshowmustgoon

AMAZING DALLAS WEEKEND: My lovely bride @zumbaviv bought for me on Father’s Day concert tickets to see @dashboardconfessional and @amnthewilderness at the @southsideballroom. It was a spectacular show and one that I won’t soon forget!

Afterwards we stayed in Dallas and hit up @allgood_cafe in Deep Ellum and @dallasfarmersmarket and both were yummy and fun places I want to return to.

Thanks to my amazing wife and my two buds @chaztoo and @billywadle for an incredible weekend!!

Friday I had the privilege of joining my marvelous friend @chaztoo of @voyageemb on a @cityoffortworth adventure at the 2021 @impressions_group expo! Although I’m no longer in the industry it was such a great time seeing it through Charlie’s eyes and also running into dear old friends who I haven’t seen since pre-Covid.

After we exhausted ourselves on all that the Expo had to offer we MADE (get it?) our way to @printedthreads for their amazing unveiling of the @madelab.io! It was such a joy to see @brettcbowden @themightyowl @alyx_spurrier @ryancgraves and @sirmon and the new digs of PT AND see the home of @thecreativesituation.

The entire day was capped off in amazing fashion by getting to hear my Design Hero @draplin give an exciting keynote on his journey the last 20 months in lockdown. I clapped and laughed my way through it, @chaztoo and I were one of the few who actually did 😬😂, and was left overwhelmed when Charlie gifted me @draplin’s book “Pretty Much Everything” that I’ve wanted for a long time! What a sweet man @chaztoo is!

This entire experience wouldn’t have been possible if not for the freedom and flexibility I have working from home. Even though it’s a month-to-month adventure and one that leaves me sleepless sometimes, I’m so grateful for it and wouldn’t have it any other way!
