Hey everybody! 👋 Lots of new followers here. My name is Amie and I’m the owner/creative director of Thief&Bandit. We are still kicking and October of this year will mark 16 years in business! 👍The last few weeks have been a bit rough dealing with supply chain issues, navigating the potential tarrifs with the US and the mental health ups and downs that come with that. I want to thank all of our customers who’ve been patient with their orders. Slow fashion can be slow at times. 🐌But! We’ve been working super hard and the good news is we are nearly caught up! ✨Now onward to Spring. We will be focusing our attention on Reworked but will also be introducing new styles/prints. We are curious - what are you looking for for Spring/Summer?? We’d love to hear your input! #slowfashion #handprinted #handmade #thiefandbandit

When you manifest something cool, it just may happen.✨My family and I love the band Idles so much. We've been following them for years and they encompass through music what I hope to convey through this ongoing collaborative art/fashion project which is Thief&Bandit. @idlesband is the infectious, grateful, life affirming, raw/DIY art energy that I aspire to. 🖤 Johnston, me and our boys (Wolfgang, Dutch, Viggo) travelled to their show in Montreal and Dutch threw this dress we made on stage for the guitarist, Bowen to wear. He promptly put it on and for the rest of the show wore it with abandon. The dress features scraps from previous collections and pretty much encompasses the REWORKED direction we are moving towards with our brand. Seeing my kids so excited to have a part in something they love was honestly the highlight of my year. @bowenidles 📸 by @stevegerrard

Hiiii! Amie here 🖤

I wanted to give you all a little history lesson on how my baby (Thief&Bandit - not the one in the photos) came to be.

I have always been a creator and for as long as I can remember I wanted to be a fashion designer. Things shifted for me in high school when my love for drawing became an obsession. I went to art school (twice!) and finished with a Masters in Painting and Sculpture from Parsons School of Design. After graduating, my focus became sculpture but I was still curious and obsessed with fashion. On a whim, I helped a friend screen print posters for her boyfriend's punk band while also working on a single t-shirt design for a themed art show. The process of screen printing took a hold on me and there was a ton of interest in my t-shirt design. This was in 2009 and I haven't looked back. I started screen printing t-shirts and slinging them from my backpack outside bars in Brooklyn. It was fun to sell my 'art' to people from all walks of life. That was really it for me. I decided to design a little collection and do a tour of craft fairs from Brooklyn, to Los Angeles. Shortly after I started our online shop and the rest is history!

I have been pulling some archives from earlier days and there are so many memories flooding back that I needed to share with you! Hope you enjoy this blast from the past :)

From the archives. ⏳An angsty collage I made featuring little me dating back to 1997. I'm wearing a tee shirt I made and likely reading poetry. 😂 How those teenage years shape us. For me it was indie rock, the riot grrrl movement and making art, which got me through a lot of tough times. I'm still that girl, inspired by art, music, feminism and DIY. I'm glad I stuck to my guns to bring this attitude/lifestyle to @thiefandbandit 🖤 Cheers to all the badass women out there making it happen under their own rules. #happyinternationalwomensday
