HOSTED // Omakase at Steven’s @omakase_at_stevens in Singapore by Chef Kazuki Arimoto @kazuki19940107 (Michelin Young Chef Award 2025) 有本和輝 - our incredible eight-Course Dinner (SGD333++ pp ~ SGD399 ~ aud435 ) with optional Sake & Champagne Pairing (SGD158++ pp ~ SGD189 ~ aud207) was such a delightful experience - celebrating a friendship anniversary with a friend I haven’t seen in ten years. Thank you so much to Chef Kazuki for the invitation and the team for hosting us. A beautiful dinner - enjoyed this so much I didn’t want it to end. ❤️🙏

Some meals simply feed you; others recalibrate your understanding of a chef’s potential. Sitting at the counter of Omakase at Stevens, watching 31-year-old Chef Kazuki Arimoto work with a quiet, almost preternatural calm, you’re witnessing the latter. Awarded with one Michelin star in 2025 and 2026; and also the Michelin Young Chef Award 2025 - one of the youngest ever to receive it - Arimoto orchestrates an evening that feels like a series of gentle, delicious Japanese-French provocations. For a SGD491++ pp (total SGD589pp ~ aud642pp) dinner with a thoughtfully calibrated sake and champagne pairing, it’s an exquisite window into a rising star’s mind.

The evening begins as it should, with the Hassun, a seasonal appetizer platter that sets the geographical and philosophical tone. A glass of Eks Edition No. 1 by Senkin: chilled champagne-like sake arrives alongside, its fine bubbles lifting the delicate umami of spring treasures nestled on the plate. The dishes are all presented beautifully - works of art that you cannot help but want to take photos of.

My favourites were the Sakura Masu, Amadai and Wagyu courses. The Kuruma Ebi: a Japanese tiger prawn, barely kissed by heat so its natural sweetness and springy snap take centre stage is bathed in a vivid green pea purée and dotted with citrus caviar-like finger lime pearls. A more aromatic, fruit-forward ginjo saké weaves beautifully through the prawn’s sweetness and the lime’s pop.

SINGAPORE ✨ // how beautiful is this newest bar @barkapsg at the historic House of Tan Yeok Nee @houseoftyn ? Loved the two mocktails (SGD18++) listed on slide 3. There’s an on-site museum too explaining the four different stages of this Teochew mansion. Thank you to our bartender Edwin @eastern_expression and the team for your hospitality - currently on soft opening and officially opening in mid-June.

P.S we also had the Manifest (SGD25++) and Pepper Peddlar (SGD28++) cocktails. Enjoyed the Manifest but couldn’t finish the PP cocktail - only had a few sips of this.

Note: ++ in Singapore means adding a 10% service charge to the sub-total first; then a further 9% GST charge. To calculate your total when dining at most restaurants and bars, it is essentially adding 19.9% on top of the sub-total.

SINGAPORE 🇸🇬 // one of the most awaited openings this year - @1887byandre at @raffleshotelsingapore by @andrechiang_sg - and such a sweet surprise seeing Chef Andre Chiang in person again after ten years! ❤️

We had a variety of dishes from the Ala Carte menu and especially enjoyed the Floss Bun Beef Bourguignon (SGD18++), Black Truffle Pain Perdu (SGD22++), Textures of Potato & Eggs (SGD25++), Royale of Foie Gras Memory (SGD38++) and King Crab Kaffir Lime Consomme (SGD38++).

Loved how the dessert dish of Le Marron / Umber Woods (SGD32++) combined chestnut and kaya together so well - it was like a match made in heaven.

Our lunch for two came to a total of SGD425 (with three cocktails at SGD30-32++ each: Lakstar Martini, Martini Noir and Kaya Custard) without ordering mains so be prepared to spend here. Thank you to the team for the amazing food, drinks and service.
