We had a great time speaking to the AI and Computer Science students at @marymountu for the Future in Tech Panel hosted by Black Gov Tech.

The school is leading the way with targeted emerging tech careers with Aaron, Assistant Director of Career Services @marymountcareer at the helm and students wanted to know:

✅ How do we get started?
✅ Is AI taking our jobs?
✅ How do we stand out?

Our panelists were nothing short of phenomenal:

👩🏾‍🔬From Dr. Korie sharing her experience on how thinking like a scientist created a system for her growth in tech from an HBCU to an Ivy League, she made getting to the next phase applicable with specific actions.

💡Kristina, a Tech Ops Recruiter, sharing how to position yourself to help lead people from the likes of Amazon, Sony, and Google, students were saying this was the best panel they have attended.

💥Ashton, a Senior Cloud Security Software Engineer, shared that getting certifications early while you’re in school can help give you an advantage while also leveraging a portfolio.

👩🏾‍💻Sophie, Director of Product at The Atlantic, encouraged students to always think like a problem solver, even when you get into the organization, and become attached to a solution that benefits the entire team.

🔥Ryaan, founder of Black Gov Tech and a Senior PM in AI and Cybersecurity, talked about consistency and stacking lessons, not losses, in growing in your career and to leverage AI as a tool, while remaining creative and using your innate talents to stand out.

Thank you to the Marymount faculty, staff, and students for the amazing hospitality and eagerness to disrupt the technology space. The energy is inspiring to see. 💙

Want to mentor some of these amazing students or have BGT come to your campus? Reach out and we will get you connected with our Universities and Partnerships team.

See you at the next one! 🖤
