PART 2 : A few months ago, I got a call out of the blue to audition to cook for Adam Levine. Yes, THAT Adam Levine. It was an opportunity for a Chef job that would have had me cooking for him and his family and possibly for Maroon 5 on the road. With about twenty-four hours of turnaround time I had to come up with a menu - fly to Montecito, California, and cook for TWENTY people (it was supposed to be FIVE). I didn't end up getting the job, but I got so much more. It reminded me of God's consideration of me. It reminded me of how in an instant God can turn things around for the better and present opportunities you couldn't have dreamed of. By the way, it's my first Chef job in 15 years that I did not get. Like I said,I got so much more. #grateful #exceedinglyandabundantlyblessed #adamlevine #privatechef. *I was going to the states to visit my aunt who is battling a health issue, It's because of Morgan that I went at THAT time which was a set up for all that followed.

How to Love Yourselfie Camp with the @breakingthechainsfdn was one of those spaces that gives you something you didn’t know you were still looking for.

The camp brings creativity and wellness together, giving young people a place to create, connect, and learn more about themselves. I was SO EXCITED to bring my encouragement cards and spend time creating messages of hope alongside the kids and volunteers.

I loved watching someone pull a random prompt, read it, and suddenly see something click across their face because somehow, that was the question they needed that day. Then they would turn it into a message of hope for someone they had never met. There is something so beautiful (is that a strong enough word???) about a few words leaving one person’s hands and finding their way into another person’s life at exactly the right time.

And I just deeply loved the space itself and all the different stations. A room where kids are encouraged to create, express, connect, and become more comfortable with who they are.

I so very much NEEDED a place like that when I was growing up (and maybe still do?!). A place where I could learn to love myself without first learning to hide the pieces of me 😉 that needed to know they were worthy of being seen and loved.

Getting to help make that kind of space for someone else feels like one of those circles life draws for us, bringing us back to the places we once needed and giving us the chance to leave something there for someone else.

Thank you, Breaking the Chains Foundation, for having me and for creating a space where kids get to discover that being fully themselves is something worth celebrating. I’m incredibly grateful to have been a small part of the space you created.💗
