Recently, I went to @sararestaurantto ✨️ to try their 7-course 'The Journey' newly revamped tasting menu. Sara is a 5-time Michelin-recommended spot inside a restored 1900s Victorian townhouse in Toronto.

SARA is RASA w/ the letters shuffled. @rasarestaurantto came first in Harbord Village in 2014. SARA followed in 2018 as part of The Food Dudes hospitality group, founded by Adrian Niman.

In Japanese, sara = small plates, which fits their whole dining philosophy so well!

Sara is known for :
• globally inspired small plates w/ Japanese, broader Asian, & Jewish influences
• their table cubbies designed for digital detox while you eat.

The kitchen is led by multi-venue Executive Chef Lia Silva, who balances refined culinary technique w/ playful, nostalgic comfort through their tasting menu,

"The Journey" ($115 per person, with an optional $60 wine pairing).

Here is what we had on the menu:
• Raw: Tuna Tartare & Hamachi
• Nostalgia: Scallop Dumpling, Squash Latke, and the Wagyu Reuben with truffle mustard
• Heritage: Beet Ravioli
• Ember: Branzino
• Seasonal: Seared Prime Striploin served alongside warm, fluffy Japanese Milk Bread
• Reset: Buttermilk Ice Cream
• Finale: Chocolate Cake

At the end of the evening, you find a curated tea bag + a treat.

Understated, cozy, & such a memorable dining experience!

Save this for your next date night / celebratory dinner ✨!

Ty to @wildchildgrp + Sara for having me + to @bettixu for being an amazing date 😁🤍✨️

@sararestaurantto in Toronto launched The Journey this summer — a 7 course tasting menu, and it might be the best meal I’ve had all year ✨ 🔔

Every course told its own story, but together it just... worked. If you’re looking for a special occasion spot (or just an excuse to treat yourself), add this to the list!

A tasting menu featuring some of my favourite bites? Say less. 👀

The Journey is a seven-course experience that takes you through the flavours, stories, and signature dishes that have made this spot what it is. Naturally, I was excited to see two personal favourites make an appearance:

✨ Raw: Truffle Tuna Tartare and Hamachi Crudo
✨ Nostalgia: The decadent Wagyu Reuben and sweet-and-salty Squash Latke
✨ Heritage: Beet Ravioli with hazelnuts
✨ Ember: Smoky Branzino
✨ Seasonal: A beautifully cooked Prime Striploin, plus the Japanese milk bread with honey butter
✨ Reset: Buttermilk Ice Cream with granola that I genuinely could’ve eaten 10 of
✨ Finale: A chocolate dessert to finish, followed by limoncello and a take-home bag with tea and the most delicious beef tallow shortbread for the morning.

A few notes: the Japanese milk bread was a little dry on its own, but the honey butter completely saved it. And while the chocolate dessert wasn’t my favourite, the buttermilk ice cream reset was so good I almost wished it was the finale.

At $115 per person, this tasting menu feels like a great balance of elevated and approachable. It’s the perfect amount of food: you’ll leave satisfied, but not needing to be rolled out the door. And if a full tasting menu isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy some of those signature bites at the bar.

SARA has entered its next chapter with The Journey, a seven-course shared tasting experience created by Owner Adrian Niman and Executive Chef Lia Caufin. Globally inspired and designed to unfold course by course!

We experienced both the chef’s tasting menu and the vegetarian tasting menu at SARA. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and full of unexpected flavour combinations that kept us excited for what was coming next. The drinks were immaculate, and the lychee martini is unmissable! 🍸

@sararestaurantto is one Toronto dining experience, you should not miss adding to your list.

Some restaurants serve food. Others create an experience.

We joined the team at @sararestaurantto for their seven-course tasting menu and a discussed the details that most people never see.

Every dish had a story. Every course had a purpose.

This is one of those spots that reminds you why dining out should feel special.
