Date night turned into a last hoorah for Cancer season at Vortex DC, and it did not disappoint. Everything came out fresh and hot. The jerk mumbo wings? INSTANT fave. The crab cake was solid and full of real lump crab meat, just how I like it.

I came for the deep fried jerk branzino. It had a tomato-based sauce on top that I’m still on the fence about. The lemon kale Caesar was surprisingly good and I’m not even a real kale fan. The mac and cheese and fried rice could’ve used a little more seasoning, but the service made up for it. Sanaa was our server and she was everything!

Definitely coming back for brunch. Me and my man might try to knock out the whole menu because it looks fire.🔥
