SeaStephanieFish is back — Sat Oct 24! Join us starting at noon as Stephanie brings in her fresh catch. We’ll be shucking oysters and sea urchin and serving whatever is at its peak that day.  We are expecting this to be the beginning of spiny lobster season!!! Expect a beautiful selection of fresh, seasonal seafood sourced directly from Stephanie and the local fishermen she works with. No reservations, no fuss. We left our boat this morning and spent a little time in Nauta. After a bit, we loaded into a covered skiff (with a few others) for the hiring trip to @treehouselodge where Gavin and I went on a canopy walk in the afternoon. After dinner we donned headlamps and did a jungle walk with our guide, Frank and driver, Hugo. We saw lots of frogs and spiders and even a couple of opossum.

 We’re so excited to welcome David and Elyse of Gama to Sirene for a very special pop-up dinner on September 21st. SIRENE 🍷 MINUS TIDE TAKEOVER • SEPT 2 Kyle, Brad, and Miriam’s wines have been hot on our radar since we first tasted them many years back. We were initially enamored by their Syrah (we still call it California’s Allemand) for its pure elegant fruit, fine structure, and, of course, the peppery meaty wild savoriness that you always expect from the world’s best examples. As we got to know the rest of their range, we just couldn’t get enough of that throughline of freshness that makes all of their wines so special.

So after hundreds of bottles popped and poured, dozens of dinners, and even a Legends Dinner featuring them at The Morris, we are excited to host them again here at Sirene for a Wine List Takeover!

Farmers in Wine Series with Raj Parr 👉Wednesday, August 19 Our dear friend Raj Parr @rajatparr is returning to San Francisco after another incredible journey through Europe, where he has been sharing his wines and hosting memorable dinners along the way. We’re excited to start a new series called Farmers in Wine. We’ll be inviting some of our favorite farmers to come talk about their style and techniques, so we can learn about how our favorite wines got to taste the way they do. Who better to begin this series than Raj, who has been quietly transforming both himself and the land he farms. Join us for an evening of extraordinary wines and conversation. We’ll pour seven of Raj’s wines alongside wines that inspired them.  @phelanfarmcambria

july staycation continues. spent some time exploring good ole oakland, one of my favorite places to eat in america. revisited some old favs, hit some newer and new-to-me spots, and dug deep to shine light on some lesser discussed zones. hope this gives you some good eating inspiration next time you come to the town. ❤️‍🔥✨ @visitoakland 1- love this Persian spot so much. it’s the details— the pink sumac butter. the basil bouquet. the crispy tahdig disc that comes default. @_persiannights_ 2-  chef joji nonaka’s tiny counter seats only  7–i don’t think there’s another oakland sushi omakase that compares to the excellent precision and sourcing. @sushi.salon.oakland 3- 30 year old birria zone  from javier davados, who hales from jalisco. very beautiful birria—here with goat. very special spot. @el_potrillo_birreria 4- the singular commis, oakland’s only two michelin star, hits hard and doesn’t hold back. exhibit a: these  mussels in fiery red curry. @commisrestaurant 5- love the biscuits at this new spot—some of the butteriest around. @townbsicuits 6-  Reem is the definition of resilient. This manoush at the new flagship comes with oaxacan cheese and is my forever omar’s order. @reemscalifornia 7- legendary dive for the best greyhounds around @cafevankleef 8- new burmese spot—chef used to be at burma love in sf and the food shows. get the mohinga ofc and also the khao swe too @auyoungmyanmaroakland 9- new banh mi spot from the owner of la rose in berkeley (rip). he gets the bread from cam huong and makes sausage in house #BanhMiHiLe 10- @ayeshacurry told me this was her favorite jamaican spot—they just relocated to uptown. need to come back for the oxtails!  @sweetfingersjamaican 11- sweet little sinaloan seafood truck. @xeviches.sinaloa 12- leopoard spotted pizzas pies are proper, here with shrimp chorizo. @sirene_oak 13- LOVE this restaurant. real good energy, owned by 2nd gen farmer aomboon deasy of k&j orchards. the slippery pappardelle with gochujang duck sugo and cracklings were pfg @pomet_oakland 14-  from sam of ramen shop (another  favorite): a sick bar/bookstore hybrid that’s so much more @clios_oakland 15- essential natty wine shop stop.

Saganaki is a new one for us Hadeem but I grew up eating versions bathed in ouzo typically accompanied by a loud round of 'OPA' as the waiter lit a sizzling fajita pan of bubbly cheese on fire. A heavily dramaticized version of Greek food we would eat at themepark-like restaurants like Henry's taverna in Malibu, saganaki is actually a solid dish when you give it the love it deserves. Our version for our Collab with @sirene_oak featured kefalograveia cheese, yellow chartreuse and fresh figs. Thanks to everyone who joined us OPA!
