One of my favorite things about being a visionary’s accountability partner is getting a front-row seat to watch an idea become an experience.

Not just an experience that entertains people, but one that enriches purpose, ignites passion, and creates meaningful connections between people who may have otherwise never crossed paths.

As a connector, I don’t just think about whether people will enjoy the product. I think about the conversations that will happen because of the product. I think about the relationships that will be formed. I think about the moments where someone feels seen, heard, valued, challenged, inspired, or reminded that their voice matters.

That’s what makes experiences like @umamiamora so special.

Food may bring people to the table, but vulnerability, curiosity, storytelling, and human connection are what keep them there.

What an honor it has been to celebrate the second year of Umami Amora with the same incredible women who started this journey together. To witness the growth, creativity, courage, and commitment behind the scenes has been a gift.

We’re building more than events.

We’re building community.

And if this year taught me anything, it’s that we’re only getting started.

It’s only going up from here.

Jasmine’s Prosecco, Pearls & Panties bridal shower was EVERYTHING—classy, grown, and full of so much love and laughter! From the paint & sip, to the panty game (y’all showed OUT 😏😂), to that unforgettable surprise moment… baby, the room was filled with pure JOY!

Thank you to everyone who came, celebrated, gifted, and poured into my daughter. Your presence truly meant the world to us, and the love in that room was undeniable. 💕

Sunday Brunch at the @theartisttablememphis with @chef Andrea (@chefladybug_delights) was amazing!!! I had the peach pancakes & sweet potato hash w/turkey bacon & a fried egg. Starting with my team, I have never worked with such an amazing group of professional women like this group here.

We all knew our place and worked months on this event together. We did media, long talks, tons of organizing and so much more.

I am grateful for yall. I couldn’t have done it without you.

When we were taking out last pic, I yell “jailhouse pose” and the team understood the assignment.

That’s how we clicked so perfectly. Love yall , fr!

Umami Amora : A Cultural Celebration of Love & Food

On June 14th, experience the talents of seven of the city's finest chefs as they craft seven plant-based courses—a vibrant tribute to our culture, traditions, flavors, and existence.

I recently had the honor of previewing this Juneteenth dinner celebration—Umami Amora. It was an unforgettable event celebrating the fusion of culinary innovation, heritage, and community. The evening brilliantly showcased the enduring bond between flavor and culture, woven through history. For instance, our enslaved ancestors, with incredible creativity and resilience, transformed scraps meant for survival into the beloved southern cuisine we now know as soul food. Today, this legacy continues to inspire chefs and communities alike, bridging the past and present through the art of food. So I created it.

I’ve partnered with @leadinginlife to pour emotional intelligence into the plate—every dish tied to a lived Black experience. This beautiful evening is coordinated by @lilacimpactservices and designed by Andrea of @chefladybug_delights who brought the vision to life with intention and soul.
