The human experience is designed for the same flexibility that mimics the same potential innate to the brain’s plasticity.

It’s important to remember that in moments that are clearly aching for your presence and brilliance, yet you feel detached with a burdening sense that your attention is owed elsewhere.

Recently, I’ve been feeling like I turned back to my art and ambitions to becoming a mural artist. However, my perspective completely shifted when I had to get on a 30 footer and power wash an entire building. Yes! I imagined that act as the base paint layer to a massive building…which resulted in utter happiness filled with a sense of accomplishment and pride over my community.

The same goes for being a parent. When it comes to interacting with my children, as much as I am responsible for setting boundaries, I am also responsible for them exploring where their boundaries lie. As much as I am eager to project the ideal onto them, they snap me back into what’s actually the problem their facing and feeling — because the problem is often not in finding a solution, but, another opportunity to connect.

Every moment counts.
To dwell on the past or future is normal
But to normalize “waiting in vain for love” is not!

Turning your creativity towards channeling possibilities is a challenge sometimes, but, a shift in perspective is always accessible.

In essence, every moment counts. And the compound effect of this revelation is just as potent.

Top Sirloin 1/2” Rice & Beans with Sautéed Spinach

Such an easy meal to prepare, especially when you have the rice cooked and ready from previous days.

The beans come in a can.

The celery and carrots that you use to feed your bunnies can actually go in here too.

1 single tomato sliced in wedges gives the beans an extra natural broth to slow cook the beans with and make a bean sauce that’s not just water.

You might use the entire bag of spinach to make one side but it’s totally worthwhile when that juicy & luscious spinach mixes with the beans to create a delicious bite in itself independently from the steak.

Chicken Salad Sandwich

Chicken salad is such an underrated meal prep recipe that goes unnoticed from time to time, and toppled by the tuna salad fanatics in a restaurant menu.

This is where mayo and Dijon mustard comes to shine along with craisins and a variety of roasted nuts from Almonds to Walnuts will give this recipe some layers to bite through for a burst of flavors.

If you can snag yourself a roasted chicken from the market will even take this recipe to another level.

- 4 cups of shredded chicken
- 1 cup of mayo
- 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp of smoked paprika
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup crasins
- 1/2 cup of nuts of your choice either sliced almonds or candied walnuts are great

Roasted potatoes & Braised Beef Tips

Here I am again with another braised beef tutorial 🤣

That’s because Brazilians can’t get enough Braised Beef as we call it “Carne Cozida”

Without a doubt we’re a people that will make anything work with what’s available. A humble people who are not shy to grab the toughest cuts of meats and slow cook it until it’s tender for every day nutrition.

Here I have the beef accompanied by some easy roasted yellow potatoes sliced 1/4” thick. Seasoned with melted butter and Montreal chicken seasoning.

And of course, I did not get the plated shot 🤭 I was so hungry I just kept eating the potatoes and nibbling on the beef by the time it was cooked lol

- Beef Chuck tips 1.5 lbs
- Carrots 4 whole sliced
- Celery 4 sticks sliced
- White Onions 1 whole sliced
- Mushrooms
- Yellow Potatoes

Behind the food one cooks is a whole lineage of love and people who honor quality time.

It’s very easy to get caught up in the highly demanding nature of hospitality and even when we’re getting slowly cooked in the kitchen it’s very easy to justify our sacrifices as borderline insanity.

It’s not a job for the faint hearted.
Yes, it’s the job and life we ultimately chose!

But beyond the surface and ego, lies a deeper mystery that draws us back as to why we ultimately choose to serve.

It’s the love for one another and divine connection we’ve been sharing since the beginning.
