Throwing it back to this past summer on our scouting trip for one of @nflgreen most ambitious projects to date. With the help of @forceblueteam @crcl1988 @nolasuperbowlhc and @chefsbrigadenola , volunteers will be building a 59 ton living shoreline in Lafourche Parish using recycled oyster shells from partner restaurants around Southeast Louisiana during Super Bowl week. Our beloved Louisiana oysters are harvested, consumed, recycled, cured, bagged and placed back into the water in order help protect our fragile coastlines and communities from the ever-present threat of coastal erosion. Stay tuned for ways you can contribute, including participating in Oyster Night New Orleans on February 5 to get out and eat some oysters for our coastline!

Another exceptional ride along with @chefsbrigadenola to @eaglepointoysterco to learn about off-bottom oyster production along the Mississippi coast. Very exciting times for off-bottom oyster farms and their potential impact on the seafood industry. Keep an eye out for these smaller, more craft style Gulf oysters in your restaurants as they become more widely available… and recycle your oyster shells!

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of riding along with @delta_discovery_tours and @chefsbrigadenola to observe the effects of @crcl1988 oyster recycling program and its benefits to our coastline. The program partners with participating Louisiana restaurants and volunteers to turn used oyster shells into reefs protecting our fragile ecosystem. So far, they have built over 8,000 feet of living shoreline protection for our communities. Really incredible work happening down the Mississippi to help build back Louisiana’s land loss.
