Chef Sam has been nominated for Chef of the Year by the NJRHA, alongside seven other seriously talented chefs. It’s an honor to be in such good company.

We’ve put a lot of ourselves into this little restaurant, and it means a lot to see Sam recognized for what he does. Thank you to our team, our guests, and everyone who’s supported us along the way.

#WhatImEating: @samstablenj. My wife and I first discovered @chefstymest during COVID, when he was hosting pop-up dinners in his parents’ home. It’s been wonderful watching that journey lead to Sam’s Table, where Sam and his irreverent mom, Deborah, have created a warm, welcoming place that somehow still feels like you’re eating in their home, right down to the artwork of Sam’s dad, Brian, an accomplished artist in his own right, which adorns the walls of the restaurant. 🖼️

In a town filled with incredible culinary options, Sam is producing some of Montclair’s most creative and bold dishes, with a menu that changes monthly to showcase what’s in season. 🍽️

🎉 Happy first anniversary to Sam’s Table, and congratulations to the entire Stymest family on the special place they’ve created. 🥂

A year ago, we opened the doors to Sam’s Table with a naïve amount of hope, a lot of hard work, and no idea of exactly what the next twelve months would bring.

Somehow, here we are.

We’re incredibly grateful to our wonderful team, to the chefs who have cooked alongside us, to the farmers, fishermen and foragers who have trusted us with their ingredients, and to all of you who have come in, come back, brought friends and become part of our circle.

You’ve helped make this little restaurant what it is. Thank you. Sam and Deborah ❤️

So many things started during the pandemic: social distancing, sourdough starters, doom scrolling - and the seeds for a few special businesses. On Sunday, July 26th @damonwise1 will be firing up the smoker that started it all in 2020 with @wisemeats and led to @pineappleexpressbarbecue for a Backyard Barbecue with @chefstymest where @samstablenj all began.
