What an amazing adventure! Back from my first @tikioasis in San Diego and mostly spent time having too much fun to take pictures.

Luau, visits to Mothership "off-campus", cabana suit strut, caftan stroll, workshops, seminars, volunteering on Punch Bunch for the Bartender Battle, meeting Jim Bacchi of @tikiyaki , making new friends, catching up with old ones, suite parties, a house party, and so much more - whew! What an amazing, wonderful week! I think everyone should have a week a year where all they need to do is just to look fabulous and have fun.

Mahalo to Otto and Baby Doe and all the other hard-working crew and volunteers who keep Tiki Oasis going year after year! A hui hou kākou!

Today I was thrilled to pick up both of these reworked vintage Sailor Moon vinyl bags given new and more fabulous life by the incredible @chelle_summer ! I hung on to the originals for literally decades - after I bought them, used them for years until they gave up and died, and then couldn't bear to just trash their remains because they were just too beautiful. (Last 2 photos show the original bags.)

When I saw in one of Chelle's newsletters that she'd made a custom bag set from vintage materials for another customer, I realized what I'd been saving them for! After some online correspondence earlier this year and my advance purchase of some super cute thematically matching fabric for the linings from Spoonflower, I dropped off the original bags and new fabric with her at Arizona Tiki Oasis.

We met up at Rose City vintage market today for the handoff and I'm so happy with them both. I can't wait to use them for fun outings again soon! Thank you so much Chelle!! 😊🙏💖🌙💖

I spy with my little eye something… FABULOUS 💥
Special thanks to @chelle_summer for creating the keepsake of my dreams! My grandparents bedroom was completely decked out in this retro fabric. I’m talking wall covering, bedspread, curtains, the whole shebang.

I have been pondering what to do with a bolt of the fabric found when emptying their home and was thrilled to have discovered Michelle who made me the cutest custom bag. I am blessed to have much of my Nanie’s handbag collection and I know she’ll be grinning ear to ear watching me take on the world while carrying a piece of her on my arm 💕
