A big shout out to our champion boxing coach, Sara Jalonen, who last night won the Australasian Boxing Title. Your performance was phenomenal, clinical and massively inspiring. I, the Friday morning gang, and whole PCYC North Sydney, are so happy and proud of you. You inspire and help so many people, and this title win was thoroughly deserved. Well done, champ. 🥊👏😁

It was awesome to spend the evening with Rob, Sam, Ishi and the PCYC boxing crew. Good times! 😁

ps with seeing Sara in action, being ringside, and having a competitive nature, I could not help wondering if I should jump back on the other side of the ropes. Last tilt? 🤔

"Maaaate" 😀. Along with training the body-mind-spirit, the social side makes it fun to come to martial arts training. Friendship, teamwork, awareness of others, leadership, responsibility, respect and camraderie. Your fellow students and trainers are the glue which drives you to reach your goals and have fun doing so. See you in class, my friends ✌️🥋

...aaaaand that's a grading weekend wrap!!! First of all, the trainers and I want to congratulate all of the students. Discipline was the grading theme. Set the goal, show up regularly to class, put in the extra effort, do what you have to do, and you will earn your new reward. This lesson applies to anything in life, be it school, career, martial arts, anything. Well done, everyone. You are all champions in our books.

Speaking of, I want to thank all of the trainers and helpers. You are saints! The way you permanently impact people's lives should never be under-estimated. You are role models to all of the students (and definitely me).

I also want to thank the parents, who give up their time and energy to bring their children to training. You are very much part of this journey and grading process, and the trainers and I are always happy for you to share in the joy of the day. I hope the children kept their "pinky promise" ha ha. Thank you!!!

Onwards and upwards for your next grading goal 🙂

Congratulations to the North Sydney and Chatswood gradees today 🙂 . You were awesome. Really good technique and just a real happy grading. With the focus on discipline, you ticked off every point, and your hard work yielded your much deserved reward. Although, from the photos, I am still unclear who are the children and who are the adults???? 🥋✌️

Massive congratulations to the Balmain gradees today. Another top, fun grading day 😁 . The Bright Stars were full of energy and smiles, while being excellent with their technique. The Super Stars were run like a fun, military camp, needing to pass the kickboxing component before moving on to the self defence then groundwork defence ( and they all passed ✌️). The Adults also smashed the syllabus, while showing the philosophical and emotional lessons. Well done, all. Let’s thank the trainers and helpers for making this a top day. Enthusiastic bunch who are rock stars to the kids. We also want to thank the parents for their never ending support of the students martial arts journey. And it was an absolute pleasure…and fun…to have you back in watching the gradings. Students, you showed up to training, worked hard, learned your technique, and were (rightfully) rewarded today. Use this as a lesson for everything in life…show up…work hard…and you will get your results. It’s that simple ✌️🥋.
