What a fun Valentine's weekend we had in Murphy, NC! 💗 Our kids gave us this trip for Christmas and we had the best time in a tiny house ❗️We toured Murphy and Blue Ridge ➕️ ate too much (Big Nick's BBQ and Mariolino's Italian Cuisine was the best) ➕️ shared a yummy apple pie from Mercier Farms ➕️ relaxed bonfire style ➕️ laughed until we couldn't laugh anymore❗️Thankful for time away together❗️#mysquishyandforevervalentine 💗🥧🍎🔥

Highly recommend having best friends that double as sisters… ones that drink, laugh, cry, have late night talks + therapy sessions with you. Not too sure where I’d be without this true bunch.

H.A.P.P.Y. M.O.N.D.A.Y!!⁣
⁣
I feel compelled to be 100% raw & transparent with you today... one of my strongest & most difficult thoughts to control are those of 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧.⁣
⁣
every day. multiple times in a day, I’m comparing myself/my life to others. thinking “wow, they seem to have an incredible life.. my life is boring compared to theirs!” or “they seem to really enjoy their career, I should know what I wanna do & be more established in my life by now!” or “she’s in fantastic shape.. I wish I looked like that!”⁣
⁣
I was catching up with a friend the other day who devotes his time & energy to creating awareness for 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦. His movement has been remarkably successful & he continues to rapidly expand his audience. It’s extraordinary - the vibes he’s putting out into the world. I (subconsciously) but also out of habit blurted out: “yeah, my life’s not nearly as exciting as yours..” he, being a good friend to call me on my bs said without hesitation, “it’s not a comparison!”⁣
⁣
this comment has resonated with me since.⁣
⁣
I realized I’ve succumbed to this rotten mindset - I’ve been letting my thoughts control me instead of controlling my thoughts. So much so, I barely realize my own word vomit. I let these negative & unwelcome thoughts rule my mind.⁣
⁣
I spend so much of my time comparing myself to others that I have tremendous amounts of insecurities. It’s nearly disabling sometimes, if I’m being completely honest.⁣
⁣
so I took the time to research some quotes that help remind me of my badassness:⁣
⁣
• don’t compare your life to others. there’s no comparison to the sun and the moon, they shine when it’s their time.⁣
⁣
• the reason we struggle with insecurities is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.⁣
⁣
• comparison is the 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 of joy.⁣
⁣
• the first step to accepting yourself is to STOP comparing yourself to others.⁣
⁣
• flowers need time to bloom.... so do you!⁣
⁣
