POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today I had the pleasure of meeting the legendary Chely Wright 🎤🤝 — an incredible opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and have a meaningful conversation about music, business, and professional development.

What made this meeting even more impactful was learning about her involvement in professional skills building here in NYC. It’s inspiring to see individuals who have made their mark in the entertainment industry also contribute to helping people develop the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to grow professionally.

From the music business to workforce development, it’s all about creating opportunities, building relationships, sharing knowledge, and opening doors for others. Sometimes the most valuable connections happen when you step outside your own industry and recognize the bigger picture.

Much respect to Chely Wright for the conversation and the work being done beyond the stage. Success isn’t just about what you accomplish — it’s also about how you use your experience to empower others. 💯

When @kathynajimy, @reallindaperry, @chelywright, @lulu_blitzer, and I were compiling the list of our dream contributors a bunch of years ago for ‘My Moment: 106 Women on Fighting for Themselves,’ @GloriaSteinem was at the very top of our list. We asked her “What was the moment in your life when you realized you were ready to fight for yourself?” This was her essay response. I am so grateful that she lent her wisdom to this book. Her legacy will last a lifetime. She will be so missed. Rest in peace Gloria. 🪽🕊️💛 @gallerybooks

I’m excited to finally share something I’ve been working on: my new podcast, The Secret Is OUT.

Each episode tells the true story of someone who carried a secret, sometimes for years, and what happened when that secret could no longer stay hidden. These are LGBTQ stories told with the suspense and intimacy of a documentary, exploring faith, family, identity, courage, and the complicated journey toward living honestly.

The first episode, “The Deal with God,” tells the powerful story of country music superstar Chely Wright and the personal cost of hiding who she was while building one of the most successful careers in country music.

The podcast is available now on Spotify and will soon be available on all other major podcast platforms.

Please listen, follow the show, and leave a rating. It would mean so much to me, and it will help more people discover these important stories.

You often hear it said never meet your heroes, well if this life has taught me anything it’s why stop there. Meet your heroes, make the content, share your love of them and all the things that make them the amazing, inspirational people they are, you never know where it will take you. I know much of the story is still being written but I’m loving the wild ride (iykyk) I’ve been on this past year and where it’s taken me and where it’s leading me. @shellyfairchild @ashleymcbryde @chelywright

I have always loved this song, by the phenomenal Miss @chelywright
I just think it’s a beautiful song to listen to when you are on a road trip or just driving somewhere. Makes me dream. It makes me smile and 90’s Country music always has that spot in my heart ♥️
So if you enjoy country music just as much as I do ….

Still can't believe either of these things happened or some of the things that have happened in the 365 days since I posted this video. Even on the days where I'm stressing about goals I can see but not touch I don't regret this life that The Universe chose for me and all the surprises and blessings within it.

My Why. A story of an invisible string that’s followed me through more of my life than not and the three amazing women who form knots along it. The women I get to call so many things but the greatest is hero. These women motivate me. They inspire me. They are the reason I persist through every obstacle and challenge because if they can, I can. These women are why I’m a fangirl. Why I let a little girl loose with modern day paper and glue to create art from art. Why I promote the artists I love and the things they do because the music and the women they are saved me then and still does. @shellyfairchild @ashleymcbryde @chelywright
