Why this photo of a phone in our Youth Hotel? 📱 Why did our trip to China stop in Chengdu? 🇨🇳✨ 一座让人感到特别舒服、特别自在的城市。❤ Pourquoi notre voyage en Chine s’est-il arrêté à Chengdu ? 🇨🇳❤️ Because it will simply stay there, and no one will touch it. A small everyday scene that says a lot about the sense of trust we feel here. Why did our trip to China stop in Chengdu? 🇨🇳 Because we had already been here last year… and we truly fell in love with this city. ❤️ Perhaps other Chinese cities have this same gentle way of life, but Chengdu charms us with its balance. Despite its immense size, we find it human-sized, with its lively little neighborhoods, its modern districts, and above all, the kindness, warmth, and serenity of its residents. A city where you simply feel good. ✨ We were supposed to return to Chongqing, visit Xi’an, and perhaps even go as far as Beijing. But after two months of traveling, we found a true haven of peace, and we want to make the most of it. 🤍

Taikoo Li, Chengdu 🤍Chine A neighbourhood that celebrates luxury… Every brand competes to stand out through originality, art and creativity. This year, Gucci was the one that caught our eye ✨ Un quartier qui fait honneur au luxe… Chaque enseigne rivalise d’originalité, d’art et de créativité pour attirer le regard. Cette année, c’est Gucci qui nous a arrêtées ✨

Over 1,300 years old, this monumental statue took approximately 90 years to build and stands 71 meters tall. He protects the people from the dangers of the three rivers before him: the Min, Dadu, and Qingyi Rivers. 🇨🇳

Definitely a must-try famous claypot restaurant in Chengdu 🇨🇳 ⁣ We can totally see why it’s so popular ~ Taode was one of our favourite meals in Chengdu, serving hearty, comforting claypot dishes beyond the usual hotpot.⁣ ⁣ 🍤 Signature Garlic Prawns with Vermicelli 蒜蓉虾仁⁣ Plump prawns cooked with vermicelli in a rich garlic sauce, with the noodles soaking up all those savoury juices. Definitely a highlight.⁣ ⁣ 🥩 Steamed Pork Ribs with Pumpkin & Glutinous Rice 粉蒸精排⁣ Tender pork ribs with sweet pumpkin and sticky glutinous rice, creating a delicious savoury-sweet combination.⁣ ⁣ Paired with Wuchang rice and hot tea, it made for such a hearty and comforting meal. Would have ordered more if our stomach space allowed but the portions were huge ~⁣ ⁣ Even on a weekday night, the queue was long, so we registered early and walked around Chunxi Road while waiting. There’s also outdoor seating with drinks and snacks if you prefer to stay nearby.⁣ ⁣ 📍 Taode Casserole 陶德砂锅, Chengdu⁣ ⁣ — 📣 @trip Trip.com is looking for its 2026 Community Representatives, with over🏅1 million Trip Coins up for grabs, plus a chance to attend the awards ceremony in Sydney! A very long journey to finally see the 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗵𝗮 🥹🪷 Carved during the Tang Dynasty in 713 AD, taking nearly 90 years to complete. At 71m tall, this 1,300-year-old masterpiece is the world’s largest stone Buddha statue & a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ✨ Also saw other impressive statues at Oriental Buddha Park — the 33m seated Shakyamuni Buddha & 51m Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru). 🙏🏻 #leshan #leshangiantbuddha #heritage #chengdu #china

Must-visit hotpot in ancient China?! 🏮⁣ ⁣ Okay, not actually ancient China, but Da Yuan He Xian Yu Zhuang (大院河·仙鱼莊) in Chengdu genuinely feels like stepping into another era.⁣ ⁣ The Sansheng Huaxiang branch is built around a Chinese-style courtyard with a lotus pond, water features and even gondola-style boats where you can dine. There are private rooms upstairs too.⁣ ⁣ What we ordered:⁣ ⁣ 🍲 Spicy red broth (馋嘴红锅) with catfish & Rock Grouper (三角峰 & 岩团) — the fish is selected live and prepared fresh, and you can really tell from the firm, tender texture. Both stayed nicely meaty even after cooking in the broth.⁣ ⁣ 🥩 Handmade crispy pork (手工酥肉) — best eaten straight from the hotpot; the crispy coating picks up the spicy, fragrant broth while the inside stays juicy.⁣ ⁣ 🍡 Brown sugar glutinous rice cakes (红糖糍粑) — soft and chewy inside with a caramelised sweetness that worked especially well after the spicy hotpot.⁣ ⁣ 🖤 Heritage handmade black tofu (非遗手工黑豆腐) — my favourite. Super soft and jiggly, with a deeper, more distinctive flavour than the usual tofu you get in hotpot.⁣ ⁣ 🥬 Bamboo shoots, potatoes & kelp — simple ingredients, but they soaked up the spicy broth so well that we kept going back for more.⁣ ⁣ The portions were seriously generous and we couldn’t finish everything. They also pair really well with rice, and even with all that, it came to under SGD15 per person for us.⁣ ⁣ We went too early to catch the Chengdu face-changing and fire-breathing performance, but I can imagine this place looking like a magical fairyland at night. ✨⁣ ⁣ 📍 Da Yuan He Xian Yu Zhuang, Sansheng Huaxiang Store (大院河·仙鱼莊(三圣花乡店), Chengdu⁣ ⁣ ⁣ — 📣 @trip Trip.com is looking for its 2026 Community Representatives, with over🏅1 million Trip Coins up for grabs, plus a chance to attend the awards ceremony in Sydney!
