DURING OUR REHEARSALS 🔥❤️❤️💥

WHEN ATTENTION MATTERS ❤️🎨

A young boy loved art and dreamed of creating something special for his father. But his dad was always busy with work, too busy to listen, notice, or give him attention.

Feeling unseen, the boy found encouragement at Afrocure, where his friends believed in his talent and helped him bring his painting to life.

One day, after a long and difficult day at work, his father’s phone broke. For the first time, he was disconnected from work and finally noticed what had been in front of him all along.

The painting was a portrait of himself, created with love by his son.

Sometimes, children don't need more from us ,they simply need our time, our attention, and someone who believes in them.

Through Afrocure and @artolution , we use art and dance to remind families that every child's talent deserves to be seen, heard, and nurtured. 🎨❤️

Raise your hand if you also feel personally victimized by graphic design 🙋🏻‍♀️. A lot of muralists and painters I know started as graphic designers. Including me!

For so many of us, graphic design felt like the “responsible” art path. The one that could turn into a job with a “real income.” For many it is. But for some…something starts pulling you back to paint and there’s just no stopping it.

In this episode of As the Paint Dries, I sat down with the absolutely lovely, warm, and kind @cheracreative to talk about her transition from corporate art direction and graphic design into full-time mural painting.

We talk about how it all unfolded and she generously walks through her client process, how she structures projects, and what made the leap sustainable.

If you’re a graphic designer who secretly misses painting this one’s for you! This episode is out on Spotify — Chera Creative: How to Get Mural Clients, Price Projects, and Run a Creative Business

When Sundance Square had a vision of painting realistic Texas-native bugs at an angle that accentuates their cuteness, Chera was up for the challenge. She specializes in nature-inspired murals so this project was just right for her to bring to bring the vision to reality! When walking through Sundance Square Alley or by Jubilee Theater & The Burk Burnett Building you can see these creatures 🌸✨🎨💜

The bugs are a Roseate skimmer dragonfly, June bug, monarch caterpillar, and another dragonfly!🐛🪲🍃✨
