Next weekend, we’ve got a new class for y’all: 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐦é 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩. In this 4 hour class, you’ll experience mindful, meditative creativity while making your own leafy macramé plant hanger. This beginner-level course will be from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, August 24 in our refreshed event space.
𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓯𝓮𝓮 𝓲𝓼 $65 𝔀𝓱𝓲𝓬𝓱 𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓵𝓾𝓭𝓮𝓼:
✿ Instruction on how to work a few different macramé knots, including casting on, the square knot, and the half hitch.
✿ All the necessary supplies and materials, including cord, wooden ring, and 4-inch planter. (plant not included).
⁕
Macramé has a calming effect on the mind. The repetitive motions involved create a meditative atmosphere where it’s just you and your artwork. Concentrating on a singular task, you focus your awareness on the present moment while also acknowledging your feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations.

December has been a month marked by gratitude for the consistent support, love, and care that has surrounded us. As I reflect on the year-end and the brief but impactful journey of this month, I’m struck by the significant milestones achieved in under a year since opening our doors, made possible by the steadfast support of the Athens community. This year, filled with challenges, I chose to take a risk and dive into a venture that, while presenting daily challenges, has resulted in the creation of a store and a community I take immense pride in. The store has served as a catalyst for personal growth, introducing valuable individuals into my life, and each day has been an opportunity for personal development.

While 2023 brought about losses, the gains have been immeasurable, particularly in the form of a supportive community that has evolved into enduring friendships. My gratitude extends to everyone for their consistent support, a support that, collectively, is truly remarkable.

The images in this post highlight the local Athens makers featured in our store, each with a unique story filled with magick and talent. Observing their businesses prosper has been astonishing. These makers, balancing their craft with various responsibilities, serve as genuine inspirations. Their success, expanding to other stores and growing as both individuals and small businesses, is impressive. I deeply appreciate their dedication, and they provide me with daily motivation.

As we approach the year’s end, I acknowledge the lessons and areas of growth this year has brought. So here’s to the collective growth and continued success of these makers and our store in the journey that lies ahead. Cheers to what’s to come for us all 🌱
