I'm STILL basking in the WONDERFULNESS of what transpired that weekend...

THIS POST....IYKYK....

So NOT ONLY was i able to worship this weekend with MY GIRL, @iam_lauramelissa and my niece, my Pooh, @cherish_ty ......I told you, my NIECE brought a SPECIAL GUEST!!! 🥁 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

MY SIS.... My former but ALWAYS teammate.... My OG..... the "D" in "Debony" (Insider)...... Her Mother......MY DANNIIIIII!!!! @daniellecgiddins 😍😍😍

It has been OVER 3 YEARS since I've been able to SEE HER and HUG her neck! 🫂 (The first picture shows the moment I was able to.... thanks to her daughter)......

For those that know, Dani and I traveled for work OFTEN, so it was a NO BRAINER the times knowing I would see her and we'd be working and hanging out together.....

However, that season was up, and because we don't live in the same state... seeing her turned into 3 years later😭..... and in those 3 years.... she would begin fighting cancer... but BAAAAAAAABY... and BUT GOD... she FOUGHT, and she WON!!!! Not only was I able to hug my Sis' neck after 3 years......I was able to hug my Sis, the SURVIVOR'S neck..... while CELEBRATING her first flight out to our church to worship with HER BLOODLINE🩸🩸🩸

I WAS BORN TO BLESS MY BLOODLINE 🩸... and I'm glad to say that THIS ONE I've been adopted into......I PRAISE GOD for!! 🙌🏾

Love you Dani!!! ❤️ Love you Tykira❤️

Everything about me being here is GOD!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I introduced my daughter to @wearetransformation during the Crazy Faith series, and after COVID, she locked in! Last year, she attended the conference by herself. I told her, “Next time, I’m coming to worship with you.”

I had no idea that before that next time came, I would be battling breast cancer and away from our salon for seven months. But GODDDD!!!

I asked to move my radiation appointments to the end of my treatment schedule so I could honor my word to her because she had already purchased my ticket!!! and now I’m standing beside her in worship, celebrating and declaring my healing and full restoration! 🙌🏾

@cherish_ty, you carried our salon alongside our team while I went through chemo. Because of your leadership and their commitment, I had a business to return to. Being here with you means more than words can express. ❤️

And then there’s BLOODLINES—the name of this conference and the book I began writing while home, sick from the side effects of chemo. A conversation with my nephew and the loss of our family patriarch two months ago deepened my desire to tell our story: the blessings within our bloodline, the habits we can change, and the legacy we can build.

So this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m celebrating being a survivor. I’m celebrating my daughter’s growth spiritually as she prepares to one day become my successor in business. I’m celebrating us changing the trajectory of our bloodline!

After watching this ministry grow over the past 11 years, I’m finally here at @transformationconference, worshipping alongside my daughter. This manifestation is extraordinary ‼️‼️‼️

A promise kept. A legacy unfolding. A testimony still being written.

ALL GOD!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

NEW ON THE BLOG:

Our love story: Janiera and Wanda

They weren’t looking for love when they met. Janiera had simply taken a travel nursing assignment in Orange County, California, while Wanda was already there.

But sometimes life has a way of making the right introductions at exactly the right time.

What began as a friendship between two travel nurses grew into something neither of them expected. Years later, after reconnecting in Philadelphia, falling in love, and proposing to each other, Janiera and Wanda returned to California—the place where their story first began—to become wives at San Francisco City Hall.

Because sometimes the detour isn’t a detour at all. Sometimes it’s the beginning of everything.

A FULL-CIRCLE MOMENT. ✨

After being away from the salon during one of the most challenging seasons of my life, AVT also experienced changes within our team. Two team members transitioned out during that difficult time, but what became clear was that alignment matters.

That season helped us define who we are, what we value, and what we expect. From it, The AVT Standards were created.

Now, we have welcomed two new additions who align with the vision, embrace the standards, and genuinely add to the AVT team. Sitting together at our annual gathering—fellowshipping, reflecting, planning, and recommitting ourselves to the future—felt like a true moment of restoration.

AVT has been standing strong for 11 years. This season is not about proving that we can survive—it is about preparing ourselves to thrive at another level.

Thriving requires more than talent. It requires leadership, coachability, intentional communication, accountability, and a commitment to continued growth. It requires taking time to come together—not only to work beside one another, but to learn one another, support one another, and become stronger together.

When the right people are aligned with the vision and committed to being developed, the rewards will come. The growth will come. The increase will come.

Because coachability is the bridge between talent and success, and commitment transforms potential into results.

AVT is restored, realigned, and ready to thrive.

Together, we rise higher. 🖤✨

The AVT Standard | No. 10

Coachability is the bridge between talent and success.

Today we share our 10th and final AVT Standard, and this one speaks directly to the heart of who we are.

At A Virtuous Touch, TEAM matters.

I’ve always envisioned AVT as something bigger than one person, one chair, or even one generation. Developing people is part of our succession plan and part of how we prepare the next generation to take what we’ve learned and do it even better.

Years ago, I taught an intensive called “Who’s Holding Your Ladder?”

The lesson was simple: while you’re climbing, somebody is often holding the ladder—teaching, supporting, directing, encouraging, and sometimes pushing you toward the next level.

But growth requires coachability.

You have to be willing to learn, receive correction, apply what you’ve been taught, and remain humble enough to be developed.

And I’ve learned something else along the way:

Sometimes I’m holding your ladder.
Sometimes you’re holding mine.

That’s TEAM.

My vision for succession extends beyond my daughter and business partner. I want to develop professionals who understand AVT’s culture, uphold its standards, and have the capacity to lead and carry this vision into the next generation—and perhaps one day, even into another AVT location.

Because true legacy isn’t simply leaving something to the next generation.

It’s leaving something IN them.

We began this series with:

“We don’t simply hire professionals. We develop leaders.”

And we end it with:

“Coachability is the bridge between talent and success.”

Learn. Grow. Be coached. Be supported. Go further.

Together, we rise higher. ✨
