365 days, 24 credits, 2 surgeries, and endless tears and smiles later
I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much, grown so much, hurt so much, and smiled so much in a single year. Thank you, 2023, for the opportunities you brought to me. I’m better than I ever have been before and so much of that is due to the amazing people I’ve been blessed with (whether they’re photographed here or not). I can confidently say that whatever next year has to offer, I’m going in eyes wide and arms open, ready for the days ahead.
2024, I’m comin for ya ;)

Where has the time gone?? Yesterday I was gathering with my family and watching fireworks, now its August 2nd and summer is gliding by.

Between all the fun summer activities, I was able to get some good reading in. I got to read some quality new books, and I got to reread a few that I've loved for years. (Reviews on those favorites will be coming in the near future. 😁)

Dear Class of 2021 // Part 1

I set out this year with the goal to make sure you had something normal. When school started we really had no idea what it would look like. Would you miss homecoming and state games and prom? (Still love you, 2020 Seniors 💙) It really seemed like there were no guarantees for all of those Senior Moments that everyone looks forward to having. So I was determined to give you an experience you could look back on in 5, 10, even 20 years down the road, and say “yea, that was good. I felt like a Senior then.” I wanted to make sure you felt most like yourself during our sessions, and that you to had fun while we shot! I really wanted you laugh out loud, at least once. I wanted you to have an album you could hold in your hands and see yourself at this exact moment in time. This moment between childhood and adulthood, because it’s BIG. I was prepared to give you the best senior session experience I possibly could so there would be some ‘happy’ in the middle of the mess.

Twelve Days: A Story of Christmas

There are times I get so caught up in the commercialism of the holidays, that I love to hear a story that grounds me back to the spirit it is intended. Cheri Chesley's short story, Twelve Days did just that for me. Joe, the always working husband is caught off guard when his wife asks him for a divorce. It forces him to take a look at life, his job and his family. Now seeing his errors, he does his best to win back the love of his life by using the true meaning of the twelve days of Christmas. I loved this story, just so I could hear all the meanings of each day and the original ways Joe found to express them. It's spiritual and uplifting, perfect for the holiday season. In addition, we had a few extra shorts for Chesley to make the season even brighter.

J Scott Bennett pours out all the feelings this story. Joe's revelations all come through with clarity and love giving us that wonderful listen.
