MBC Caregiver’s Monthly Gathering Highlight 🎳♥️ Today’s meetup took a delicious detour! The bowling lanes were packed with league bowlers, so we stepped across the street to the
One Health to play some games. But hunger won out, and we ditched the games for Zaxby’s.

We ended up sitting there for a good while, laughing, sharing, and learning from one another. Everyone surely left with a favorite takeaway! Our Zaxby’s host, Eric “Popsicle” Tarver, kept the laughs coming, and the salads, wings, and fries hit the spot. Oh yum!😂

I want to give a shout-out to Adrienne, breast cancer survivor, and Chairman of this inaugural event to aid in breast cancer research and ultimately help to save more lives. 💝

Adrienne is a friend to the caregiver community. She enjoys volunteering at the Marion Therapeutic Riding Association, which teaches children with autism and special needs to ride horses. MTRA is special to me and my family because my sister was an active member of that program for many years. (See her photos. Btw, we did not take the photos or else the horses head would be there. lol!).

If you are able to suppport Adrienne’s heart for survivors, in person or financially, please do! 🙏🏽💗🙏 — Leah

And we look forward to seeing local FAMILY CAREGIVERS the following weekend for our second event supporting National Family Caregivers Month - A Caregivers’ Night Out at the Mary Sue Rich Center and Reed Place.

📚 Caregiving isn’t supposed to cost you who you are. For a long time, I forgot about the things that brought me joy: like A GOOD BOOK! I read 8 this month. 5 Bible books, 2 memoirs, and a romantic comedy.

This year, I decided to reclaim that part of myself with one book at a time. One week at a time. What started as a simple goal to RECONNECT with myself, has become one of the ways God has been restoring my peace. 💙🕊️

Maybe reading isn’t your thing. Maybe it’s Gardening. Music. Painting. Jogging. Puzzles. Photography.

Whatever it is...I hope you’ll give yourself permission to rediscover it. ✨

Small activities help us reconnect with our identity beyond caregiving.

Yesterday’s MBC Caregivers Meeting was filled with learning, encouragement, prayer, and fellowship.

Our guest speaker from Preemptive Health shared ways caregivers can monitor and improve their own health while caring for others. One comment that stuck out: “Caregivers are honorary nurses.”

We also celebrated a praise report—one member’s son is now 49 days seizure-free! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to seeing what fun and affordable activity we’ll choose for July.

💙 ☀️Caregivers need to stay healthy.

Taking a moment to breathe, connect and share resources is essential care for the caregiver. ☺️🌿☕️

If you’re interested in joining us, at a later date, for peace and encouragement, or you want to know how to start your own caregiver circle ⭕️ of friends 💙 type “Connect” in the comments.

Had an absolute blast at this year’s fundraiser: Amazing table guests, supportive sponsors, friends in the crowd, delicious food, and exciting auction items! 🎉 It was a night to remember. I am so grateful to be part of such a worthwhile cause and to share it with my legacy Mom, Golden Aunt Cheryl, and sorority sisters.💖💚 #FundraiserFun #AKAEtaTauOmega #denimpearlvibes #Encore! 🌟🙏🏽

Did you know…Salvation is the starter? Surely it’s like the best appetizer ever.
Some even think we can enjoy it once and go about our merry way until Jesus returns. 🌈 ✝️
Not exactly.
Whose life has ever been sustained by a shrimp on a cracker? 🍤

Discipleship is the daily meal. 🥘 Crafted and waiting for us, but not all about us.
It nourishes our spirit, soul, & body so we can follow Jesus’ way of doing life.
Day by day. All day. ❤️

Following Jesus is THE BEST THING COOKING! Guaranteed.
I hope you believe. 🫶🏾
