FRIENDS, I WROTE A BOOK!! 🥹📖

my debut collection, Crying On The Way Home, will be OUT ON 20TH OCTOBER!!! 🤍

this book is my heart on a platter. it is my most vulnerable thoughts. for members of the dead dads club. for anyone who has ever felt lost/ not enough. i hope this feels like a hug.

i hope it makes you smile. i hope it makes you cry.
but most of all, I hope it makes you feel a little more understood, and a little less alone. ❤️

It’s gona be a wild ride but if I wait for the perfect time it’ll never come! So here’s to the nervous excitement and paralysing fear to moving forward in the smallest steps and stretching myself into strides to collapsing then flying, falling and getting back up a million times over to not giving up on myself and to Joy, Faith and Hope. To living for them, it’s much harder than dying for them isn’t it? anyway be prepared to follow the journey here with me I’m sure it’s going to be a turbulent one and I may not be ready but I’m definitely prepared 🫶🏼

Still digging myself out of this hole, figuring shit out the hardest part is trying to understand why I stayed, why I went back and how do I ensure I never end up back there again. At the moment that means very strict boundaries, abstinence and being very guarded. It means spending a lot of time alone or with my girls and it means dressing differently usually oversized baggy clothes that inevitably lead most men to conclude I’m a lesbian between the outfit and the bald head I can’t blame them 😆 But, it’s peaceful here. And a safe man is a rarity so it just makes sense. I centre myself in my life so heavily now I feel protected by that I feel like maybe that is what ultimately will ensure whenever someone does come along I don’t end up back in that place. I try to raise my girls to centre themselves in their lives and they are nothing like me in that way and it makes me so proud their selfishness (in a balanced way) and ability to advocate for themselves in ways I never could’ve at their ages, they really be schooling me you know?

I’ve done a few of these now this is my first attempt at a grill I think she’s looking alright so far not sure if she’s gona stay textured or if ima smooth her out yet i have some time to decide while she dries out either way not too bad of a comeback after such a long break this was just to warm my hands up and get familiar with the clay before I work on my design to submit for a competition entry not my best work but she’s alright she’s growing on me 🫶🏼

I’m really disappointed to have missed tonight at @inner_inc open Mic/shell was really looking forward to performing and even more so I hate to let people down last minute too so apologies for any inconvenience I hope it was a spectacular evening as I’m sure it was 🫶🏼 I’ma go get my head down ✌🏽
