Taking photos of my clothing began as a small channel to ease work stress and ground myself.

Somewhere along the way, I began to enjoy communicating through what I wear, because my relationship with clothing reflects some of my core messages and philosophical teachings.

My styling leans toward Afro-urban minimalism: relaxed silhouettes, earthy and neutral tones, functional forms, androgynous and understated details, with inspiration drawn from Japanese and European approaches to dressing.

I like clothing that feels lived-in rather than overly constructed. I source from a mix of thrifted pieces and clothes made by indigenous tailors, bringing together what already exists with what is made locally and intentionally.

And I am, unapologetically, a sucker for footwear.😄

So I’ll be sharing some of those too, especially how I care for shoes (my shoes last for years). I treat them as an extension of my body just as I do my clothes.

Here’s how the weekend went…

Our friend and brother @uzoanderson the founder and Creative Director @cheta at the @lagospopup and we all came out to experience his new collections of Afrourban wears.

His designs are African inspired for contemporary lifestyle of the African. Tees, pants, tops, skirts, gowns that all hold a very ethnocentric vibe but not in a way that’s cheesy yet aesthetically pleasing with calm.

Well done brother from all of us @circle_of_belonging

A crown well deserved 👑
Today, we celebrate not just a title, but a legacy of honor, dignity, and cultural pride. Our distinguished brother and proud Gregorian 03 set mate @uzoanderson has been conferred with the revered Nze na Ozo title, taking on the illustrious name Nze Cheta…a name that will echo with respect for generations to come.

This is more than a personal achievement; it is a moment of pride for our entire Gregorian 03 family. Your elevation reflects a life of integrity, leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to community values. You have not only brought honor to your lineage but have lifted the banner of our set high for all to see.

May this noble title usher in greater wisdom, prosperity, influence, and peace. May your voice carry weight in the councils of elders, and may your footsteps continue to lead with courage and fairness.

Congratulations, Nze Cheta a true son of the soil, a custodian of tradition, and a shining pride of Gregorian 03.
