Meet the newest additions to Camp! (They’re officially open today) Thanks, @dwell, for featuring our tiniest expansion (and the elbow grease behind them) We’ve always liked to think that good design has more to do with resourcefulness than resources. Every project has two stories: the one you see, and the one it took to get there. We still see the white-knuckle drive to get them to camp, the 14-hour days @teichelman1973 and I spent building the interiors, Zach and Jesus building the roofs, the decks—powered almost entirely by skill, coffee, and creative profanity. (The finished photos never show that part) One line from the story felt especially true: “We’ve always been drawn to overlooked things that were built with ingenuity rather than prestige.” That pretty much sums up the last 25 years here. Thanks to @adrian_madlener for reminding everyone that behind every “design project” around here is usually Facebook Marketplace, a borrowed forklift, a local friend who says, “I think I can move that,” and several months of sawdust. Because the truth is, we’re not collectors of expensive things. We’re just collectors of good ideas that everyone else drove past. And yes... these also have HVHC. (We’re not complete masochists.) P.S. Link’s in our profile if you’d like to disappear into the woods for a couple of nights. P.P.S. Thanks @NathanBobey, @BobCoscarelli & @ChevyWolf for making these things look (& sound) way better & bigger than they deserve IRL.

Archives This song was written as a comeback to the song “Runaround Sue”, offering the female side of the story and pushing back against the idea that she was the heartbreaker Dion made her out to be. Amazing.

Last week in Burbank for the @afroanimationsummit, I had two panels. A wrap up video is coming soon, so be on the lookout. Thursday, we sat down for “Owning The Vision” and had a real conversation about building and scaling IP without waiting on permission. No fluff. Just the work. So imagine the teams surprise when got word that our panel got mentioned in @forbes! I am grateful for every single interview that I do be it a smaller publication or large publication, but seeing us in Forbes hits different and is a major milestone moment. Not just for the look, but because it reflects what we’re actually building across @mode7group, @oddninjamedia7 and I2a2. For me, that’s the shift. As a child from a small town in VA, I started in theatre, transitioned to film and tv then to voice acting. I grinded and carved my own path when others counted me out and were against me. Still, I stayed locked in on the craft, because at the end of the day, whether if people are for you or against you, no one should believe in you more than you do yourself! Now, I’m producing and owning my own IP's with celebrity names attached. People have come and gone for their season, but with a committed and dedicated team behind me, I, we, are building from the ground up and not following status quo, and the flood gates have begun to open. They say that is unconventional.. Ok, I'll take that! Grateful for the recognition. The focus stays the same. More major news coming soon. Shout out to my PR Strategist @tnicolepr for the continued grind and holding everything together. To see you acknowledged in Forbes with us now validates to those that matter in our industry.. Shout out to my Brand Strategist @jay_theartdirector for your continued spot on delivery and graphic skills. Shout out to my guys @earthtonemedia and @jsn.ryn for joining me on this panel, they're not ready for what we're about to do. Shout out to @chevywolf for the collab in PR. It was all good just a week ago… Last Sunday, The Lunch Room came to life. Our first Spades Tournament brought together friends, family, and serious players for a day of cards, conversation, and competition. What started as a simple idea from @chevywolf to get people playing on the @trickstercardsinc app turned into something real, with the final hands played face to face in The Living Room at Aunts et Uncles. Casamigos was flowin… @justvlad Had the room lit with laughter High school Walkman classics on the playlist. Good people all around. And to top it off, @stylesp came through and caught a vibe with us just on some natural vibrations. Missed this round? Stay close. Or DM us SPADES to be on the list for the next one. ♠️🖤

The Lunch Room was fully activated this past Sunday. What started in the lunch room… what lived in our aunty and uncle’s living rooms… came back to life at Aunts et Uncles. Friends. Family. Real players. And our brother Styles P pulled up in person and had a time. .Just good energy. We appreciate you for pulling up, blessing the space and showing love to the block. @stylesp

Before group chats. Before DMs. Before the internet told everybody everything… there was the lunch room. That’s where reputations were built. That’s where people learned the rules. That’s where spades got serious. Some of us learned in the lunch room. Some of us learned at the card table in our aunty or uncle’s living room. Either way… you had to know how to play. We’re bringing that energy back. The Lunch Room — Spades Tournament Digital Qualifiers begin March 15 on the Trickster Cards app. Top players advance to the Live Finals at Aunts et Uncles — March 22. Casamigos cocktails flowing. Music playing. Limited merch for the night. Grab your partner. Pull up to the table. Let’s see who really knows how to play. ♠️ Register: trickstercards.com/club/TheLunchRoom Tag your spades partner

It's a new year and with a new year comes a new post, and what better way to kick this off than the article on @blavity / @blavityinc announcing myself and @essence_says Atkins in @jerichocutter. With Blavity being the premier platform for uplifting Black voices, stories, and culture, seeing Jericho Cutter acknowledged is deeply affirming. It’s a reminder that the work matters, even in the quiet, in-between stages. Huge thank you to @chevywolf / @thelastwolvesny for securing this coverage while collaborating with my PR Strategist @tnicolepr and helping bring visibility to what myself and the team are building. Truly appreciated. See the article below. There’s more on the way with @earthtonemedia, @jsn.ryn and @oddninjamedia720. I’m looking forward to sharing what’s next when the time is right. We’ve been called worse (scroll to see what the other journalist said) We’ll take it. ‘Cause he’s not wrong. Our Centennial bourbon IS a prop - made to commemorate 100 years of stories, one ballsy prohibition legend, and a century of questionable decisions made around campfires. (We’re burying a time capsule with this bottle to mark this birthday) We hope that someday, somebody will dig it up, take a swig & learn that there was a place called WANDAWEGA, built in 1925. And that an immigrant named Anna peck went to prison for selling whiskey out of pints like the ones stashed in her piano. Gratitude to @ChicagoReader & @MikeSula for including our scrappy little bottle in the same roundup as Chicago icons like @Letherbee (check out their newest release that’s also in this story) . Cheers to all the props out there like us - the kind that make camping better, the game pocket in your hunting vest fuller & help us all celebrate life’s milestones . EXCERPT: “Elkhorn, Wisconsin’s meticulously restored “house of ill repute,” Latvian church camp, and potential Wes Anderson film set introduced this cutesy ass pocket filled with four-to-six-year-old bourbon; it’s meant to commemorate the glass pints that, as the story goes, Wandawega’s Madame Anna Peck hid from the Feds in her piano. It’s a blend of juice from Indiana’s mega-industrial MGP distillery, and Owensboro, Kentucky’s historic 140-year-old Green River Distilling Co. It’s aged partly in Owensboro and partly in Pilsen at CH Distillery, where it’s also blended and bottled. Yes, it’s a bit of a prop. You can pull it out of your knickers and knock it back like you’re one of those snacky Wandawega models. But with a high corn mash bill, it has a smooth, creamy texture and honeyed caramel notes, and I’d be just as chuffed to pour it from a fifth.” Most importantly, the cover of this issue: “ICE IN OUR DRINKS, NOT ICE IN OUR STREETS” - We’re always gonna raise our glass to the immigrants who help make Chicago the great city that is. @Foxtrot inventory sold out pretty fast (more at camp) .
