I need help to fight legislation and bring fuel sovereignty to Australia, it’s tested it’s proven it works, our government is the block. I’m a builder and systems designer not a musician. Anyone that wants to help I have a dozen plus songs written out already I just need real voices so I can delete this ai shit and pump real music to the public🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

After three years of running these events, I’ve made the very hard decision to step away from @pop_up_hiphop . As you can imagine, it’s very hard to run a business with your ex partner but we pursued through the year as we knew and believed in the value these open mics and events were contributing to the culture, emerging artists and hip-hop community. I am humbled and proud of the 20 Pop Up Hip-Hop events, festival takeovers and open mics we’ve run since 2021.

I’ll still be producing and promoting hip-hop events in Tasmania as well as assisting touring artists with their Tassie shows and have been working on some gigs I’m really excited to share with you guys next year, but, will be doing so away from Pop Up Hip-Hop. Hermit will still be running open mics monthly and I encourage everyone to get up on the mic and support our scene.

Here are some posters I’ve made over the years along with a couple made by @pitchywun and the Jaw Wide face/throwie drawn by @hermit.kovacic and a photo I treasure by @troglodyte0_o . This all started from a show in 2021 I was asked to headline, but I wanted to put on my mates and showcase the underground talent we have on the island. Since then we’ve had showcases at @theunconformity Festival, Multiverse Gathering and many local gigs.

It was my dream to create hip-hop events that were safe and welcoming for all to attend and appreciate the culture. Since then I have watched the scene change, so many more women come through and less toxic people show up. It has been an absolute honour to play a part in this shift and is my ongoing mission to solidify these spaces and attitudes in today’s music industry and community.

I’m sad to leave and this has come after much thought but ultimately the events this year have played a large toll on my mental health and it is time to focus on that. So thank you to everyone who showed up, who played and who made these events what they were. Massive massive thank you to @dj_thensum who played nearly every one of them! And to Hermit for his time and belief co-producing these events too.

Onto the next adventure, big love.
