Episode 1487 - @richjones_music “Bar Talk”

81% rating

Rich Jones is a creative emcee from Chicago who I never regret listening to when I take the time. This is a project produced by members of the $$$ crew who have been making a lot of noise over the past year. If you listened to Stretch & Bobbito or shopped at Fat Beats, you will likely enjoy this project. It can be found exclusively at richjonesmusic.bandcamp.com

And now… some words on “Storm Chasers” w/ @chicagoqari off of Bar Talk, available digitally/casette via @bandcamp

@richjones_music - “Having survived my 1st Philadelphia snow storm, I am convinced that I should run for Mayor of Philadelphia w/ the sole promise to plow the streets if/when there’s a snowstorm. And if that don’t work - flip!“

@philth_spector - “Affectionately named “SpongeBob beat” by @thedoritodiva after me and @ayashi.info made this one

The Black American Beauty Live Experience + Tour Send Off Party was truly a success and definitely one for the books. ⭐️

Y’all sold out this event in less than 2 weeks and I am so so grateful for the support and encouragement you all have given me for this next big step in my life.

The love was truly felt and y’all damn near sold out all of my merch before I could even hit the road 😭🥹

Touring is EXPENSIVE and not easy to do as an Independent Artist. I am so appreciative of the ways you all have helped me to get on the road to go on tour w/ Miss Jill Scott. 🩷

If you would like to DONATE, SPONSOR, OR SUPPORT me as I go on tour, please go use the link in my bio, follow it to my website, and click the “Donate” button. You can also purchase merch from me and it’ll be mailed straight directly to you! 🥹🫶🏿

Thank you to @studioshapeschi @renzell.wav @luinnastu @hello.erica.duffy @ericmontanez @kinnmarie @lucianafilm @rebirthsociety_ @iamthecreatress @3vagency.co for all of the support with getting this over the finish line.

Thank you @fatplatefridays for blessing us with the food. Thank you @7babyguava7 for helping 🧡

Thank you to all of the volunteers and extra hands of support to help see this vision to fruition.

Thank you @icy.league + @theicyquartet for orchestrating the vibes for the night. Thank you @everydaesounds and @loveday_xo for spinning for the after party.

Thank you @whoisasha @domerie.me @dani.wmartin for holding down the bar.

Thank you @breee.mo @rhome1of1 and @mfkmason for taking photos and capturing these moments for me.

Thank you to my bandmates again. I love making music with y’all @renzell.wav @ryantheperson_ @ekoliii @stnfxce @joshuamjessen ✨

Also: if you would like to see your pictures from the photobooth, check your email! We’ll be sending out another follow up email for you soon! :)

Thank you for all of the Love.

Signed,
J Bambii (Black American Beauty) ⭐️

Once the tapes for Bar Talk touch down, I’m finding a patch of grass by the lake, getting a boombox + playing the album/some other things by me n shit I like. There will be cold beverages + if so motivated, a grill. Stay tuned.

For now, go bump it today

And now… some words on “Tantanmen” off of Bar Talk, out now via @bandcamp

@richjones_music - The curative properties of a bowl of warm Tantanmen w/ a jammy egg are numerous + well documented. So too is it important to have a good baseline in your stomach before preparing for a session of beers + chatter. Or “bar talk” if you will!

@philth_spector - I made that beat at Cratediggaz during a flipabeatclub session last summer of 2025. I’ve always loved this beat. Glad it found a suitable home finally.

A rough approximation of how Bar Talk came to be over the course of roughly 1 year, from Chicago to Philly + South Jersey. Out now.
