Sounds of the city.

14 years in EMS and I’ll still stop and watch another truck race by…or take a photo in this case! Don’t lose that enthusiasm.

Firehouse Friday!

Going back to our New England trip and an afternoon in East Greenwich, RI. Station One houses Engine 1 and Rescue 1 along with Utility 1 and their boat.

While we were visiting, Engine 3 was in standing in for Engine 1 and caught a run, so I got some action shots of it rolling out. Again, thanks for the hospitality!

Miss seeing and hearing these beauties!

Miami Dade Fire Air Rescue had 4 iconic Bell 412s serving the community and I had the pleasure of watching them fly regularly from Air Rescue North. The Leonardo’s are just as gorgeous, but there was something about these…

East Greenwich Fire Rescue 1 in Rhode Island. It’s always cool to see how other departments do the job. Some things never change no matter where you go!

As usual, photos were taken and department patches were traded.

TI BASIC vs. SURVEY MODE — check out the difference.

Fire attack has already put a hit on the fire. Now watch what happens as we switch the Seek FirePRO 300 in and out of Survey Mode.

Same camera. Same conditions. Two very different looks at the thermal environment.

This is why we say: learn the camera before the fireground.

Don’t just put a new TIC on the apparatus. Put it in firefighters’ hands. Add heat. Add fire. Apply water. Change modes. Put in the reps.

Max Fire Training can deliver your Seek Thermal cameras and provide in-service training utilizing the Max Fire Box Phase I and Phase II.

Want to learn how to configure your FirePRO 300? Mark Cannon put together a step-by-step video covering the Seek Product Configurator.

This is what putting in reps looks like.

A great moment captured during the first IgniteHER, hosted in conjunction with QEM Fire Protection District.

Max Fire Training instructors Brandon Helm and Blake Sponsel had the opportunity to work with female firefighters from throughout the region through our Hose Draggers program—moving hoselines, flowing water, working on nozzle control, and putting in reps.

And as always, credit where credit is due. Many of the hose and nozzle skill sets incorporated into Hose Draggers come from what we’ve learned through Aaron Fields and The Nozzle Forward. We’re proud to pass those lessons along.

A huge thank you to Key Hose for sponsoring Max Fire Training and providing the hose we use for these training sessions. Their support allows us to show up with the hose needed to train without asking the host department to pull hose from an in-service engine. We greatly appreciate Key Hose continuing to support what we do.

Thank you to Victoria Westfall for all the work she put into making the first IgniteHER happen.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸Twenty-five years ago today, our world changed forever. Today, we pause to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.We look back with profound gratitude at the ultimate sacrifices made by the brave first responders—including the historic members of FDNY Rescue 4—who ran toward danger without hesitation to save others. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness embody the true spirit of service.May we always carry their stories forward, honor their legacy, and remain united in our gratitude.#NeverForget #September11 #HonorTheFallen #FDNY #Rescue4 FirstResponders UnitedWeStand Remember911

In loving memory…

FDNY Engine 65 was there and like all of the companies that were affected, they have a moving 9/11 tribute that includes names of those they lost. Theirs has part of their truck that was crushed.

FF Thomas Mccan was working with Battalion 8 when the towers came down and FF Willie Franklin succumbed to 9/11 related illness in 2011 after searching the pile in the days and months after.

They’re still riding.

Good morning from the road!

We’re heading to Monroe Fire Department in Wisconsin for a Max Fire Box Phase II delivery and evening Burn & Learn.

Phase II is loaded in the trailer. Thermal imaging cameras are charged. We’re ready to put in reps.

We’ll start with the educational files developed with our friend Andy Starnes of Insight Training, focusing heavily on thermal imaging and fire behavior. Then we take it straight to the Max Fire Box Phase II and put those lessons to work.

Read the conditions. Understand what the camera is showing you. Make decisions. Put in reps. Do it again.

We’re extremely excited for tonight and grateful for the opportunity to work with the firefighters at Monroe Fire Department. #maxfireboxroadtrip #wisconsin #burnandlearn #maxfiretraining #maxfirebox

Boston Engine 7 in quarters at Station 7, housing Engine 7/Ladder 17/Car 4.

Their trucks have the name “The Bull” on them to honor legendary firefighter John “Bull” Heany, who is known for his heroism and strength, especially after the Hotel Vendome Fire in 1972 where he started digging for his crew members with his bare hands after the building collapsed and his ability to single handedly move charged supply lines.

Top notch hospitality and hopefully we can return and get patches next time since they were sold out. Great t-shirts though, got one for myself and my oldest.
